Titans Waste No Time Identifying GM Borgonzi’s Early Shortcoming
Despite the difficult 1-6 start in 2025, the Tennessee Titans aren't completely devoid of talent. Mike Borgonzi and Chad Brinker acquired skilled players this past offseason. The recent breakout of rookie wideout Chimere Dike further highlighted that.
The Titans are still bad and poorly coached. They roster some players who are performing admirably despite the lopsided results. One of the reasons why that isn't translating into wins is that the Titans don't have enough difference makers.
The two best players on the roster are Jeffery Simmons and Peter Skoronski, both of which have played at a Pro Bowl level this season. However, how many teams make the playoffs solely based on great play at guard and defensive tackle? Those positions are imporant for raising the floor of the team, but not the ceiling.
Titans desperately need to focus on acquiring high-level players at impact positions moving forward
When it comes to good players, the Titans arguably have several. T'Vondre Sweat, Cedric Gray, Amani Hooker, Lloyd Cushenberry and J.C. Latham all fit that definition. Rookies like Dike, Gunnar Helm, and Elic Ayomanor all deserve to be mentioned as players who can be average NFL starters or better.
So why are the Titans so unwatchable? In short, the team lacks force multipliers. The great teams possess the right combination of good coaching, rosters without any glaring weaknesses, and blue-chip talents at premium positions. The Titans have none of those things.
As hard as it is to believe right now, that can change quickly in the offseason. The team will almost certainly succeed in upgrading their coaching staff after firing Brian Callahan. That will make a huge impact on how they maximize their roster. But they can also improve the roster by adding some blue-chip talent at force multiplier positions.
The Titans will possess a vast amount of league-leading resources this offseason. For example, Simmons and Sweat would benefit from playing next to a blue-chip pass rusher. They should have opportunities to add one via the 2026 NFL Draft.
A game-breaking wide receiver would help Ayomanor and Dike carve out niches for themselves in the offense. A smart offensive mind would be able to craft gameplans that take advantage of the flashes that both rookie playmakers have shown.
These types of players are hard to come by, but the Titans will have the cap space and draft capital to attack those areas. Borgonzi and Brinker need to read the writing on the wall and see that they are next on Amy Adams Strunk's chopping block if they don't turn things around in 2026.
They need to make this improvement happen and it needs to be obvious to the fan base and the ownership, or they can put their fate in the hands of their "
Browns QB Shedeur Sanders Sends Clear Message on His Future

Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders took to social media with an extended message as the conversation about his future in the NFL continues to buzz.
Sanders has been relatively quiet in recent weeks since being named the backup to Dillon Gabriel. He previously served as the No. 3 quarterback behind both then-starter Joe Flacco and Gabriel.
Sanders’ latest message emphasized that he is not concerned with the timing of things, but rather trusts in his faith.
“The greatest lesson I’ve learned through it all is not to worry but to lean on and trust GOD in every situation. Even when I don’t know what to do, I’ve learned that GOD will always guide me. I live stress-free because I know that, no matter what, GOD has the final say over my life,” Sanders said.

“I’m able to persevere through trials because I come from a family built on morals, values, and unshakable principles. Growing up, I had access to a lot, and maybe without my understanding shaped my world view, but I’ve realized that peace, purpose, and faith can’t be bought. They have to be built. True success is who you become while waiting on GOD’s timing. GOD’s pace protects what your purpose will one day require.”
Browns QB Shedeur Sanders Not Getting First-Team Reps
Practice reps have become a key talking point surrounding Sanders. Unlike Gabriel —who received first-team snaps when Flacco was the starter — Sanders has yet to get those same opportunities. Head coach Kevin Stefanski explained that the decision comes down to development priorities.
“I mean with a young quarterback, with Dillon starting, you want to make sure he gets a lot of reps,” Stefanski said. “Different when you have a veteran like Joe (Flacco), but still getting reps in a bunch of periods.”
As Sanders said, he’s being patient. After Flacco was traded, he said his focus would be on supporting Gabriel in his role and being ready if his number was called.
“We’re going to make sure we do everything we can to make sure Dillon is ready for the game,” Sanders said ahead of Week 6. “So each and every day, even when Joe (Flacco) was the starter, everything. Prepare the right way and be ready to know that you could get out there any point in time. So, I’m overly confident within myself. I know when I first got here, I’m ready to play, but it’s up to the coaches and whatever decision they make, then I’m fine with.”
Browns QB Shedeur Sanders Making Progress
There is a feeling around Cleveland that Sanders will eventually get his chance. Gabriel has done little to cement himself as the starter through three starts. He’s gone 1-2 but failing to provide a spark for the struggling offense. The Browns scored 31 points against the Dolphins in a blowout win on Sunday but Gabriel passed for just 116 and no touchdowns.
Browns insider Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com recently gave some telling insight on Sanders and his progress.
“In practice, Shedeur Sanders has been making a ton of progress,” Cabot said on the “Ultimate Cleveland Sports Show” on Tuesday. “He looks really good. I’ve been saying this over and over again: If you put Shedeur and Dillon Gabriel side by side, or one after the other in a seven-on-seven red zone drill, I think that Shedeur would probably win that drill much of the time, or if you put ’em up against each other in a pockets drills where you’re throwing the ball into the little pockets in the net, I think Shedeur would win that a lot of the time.
“The reviews I’m hearing from inside the building are really, really good on Shedeur’s progress right now. But I still think they want to give Dillon some time. Now, he’s got to make some points out there, he’s gotta produce and generate some touchdown passes, but, for now, I think the status quo will be maintained.”
The Browns face the New England Patriots this week with a chance to move to 3-5.
