NFL admits what Giants fans already knew about Malik Nabers’ unlimited ceiling
After an incredible rookie campaign, New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers is looking to build off that success heading into his second season in the NFL.
In a year that was an utter disaster for the G-Men, they went a franchise-worst 3-14 and dropped 10 straight games. Nabers was the lone bright spot. He set a franchise record with 109 receptions for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns in 17 games. What made his rookie season even more impressive was that New York went through a full-on quarterback carousel in 2024, with Daniel Jones, Tommy DeVito, Drew Lock, and Tim Boyle all taking reps under center at one point.
Now, with the Giants having a bit more stability at quarterback, Russell Wilson is slated to start, while hopeful franchise QB Jaxson Dart continues to develop. There’s a fair question: Could this new QB room help elevate Nabers into being recognized as one of the best young players in the entire NFL?
Malik Nabers ranked as one of the top 25 players under 25 entering 2025
In an article for The Athletic, Mike Jones ranked the top 25 players under the age of 25 heading into the 2025 season, placing Nabers, just 22 years old, at No. 16 overall.
"One of the few bright spots for the Giants last season, Nabers had 109 catches for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns," Jones wrote."Nabers’ 109 receptions ranked fifth in the league and his 170 targets finished second behind Chase’s 175. Chase was catching passes from bonafide star Joe Burrow. Nabers caught passes from four different quarterbacks last season."
It was truly mind-boggling what the former LSU Tiger managed to do as a rookie, especially with the Giants’ offense ranking among the worst in football. Big Blue scored 20 or more points just five times during the 2024 campaign, yet Nabers still gave fans a reason to get excited every week.
Now, with a new and (hopefully) improved offense led by Wilson, it’s fair to believe the 22-year-old can become one of the most dynamic players in the league at his age. Even with lingering injury issues that have kept him out of training camp and preseason action so far, the former LSU standout is poised to break out again in his sophomore season.
