The Detroit Lions just won their fourth game of the 2025-26 season, and they’re officially on fire. The team was on the road on Sunday, October 5, and to paly a high-profile game against the Cincinnati Bengals on the road, and they pulled off a definitive win, 37-24. Even the Bengals have to hand it to the Lions for how well they played in a road game, saying that “quarterback Jake Browning pumped three fourth-quarter touchdown passes, but it wasn’t enough to catch the Lions‘ No. 1 scoring offense in Detroit’s 37-24 victory.”
Now that the game is over, the numbers are rolling in, and the Detroit Lions have some news on Jared Goff. It’s obvious that Goff has been a big piece of the puzzle to get the Lions to where they are today. Even without offensive coordinator Ben Johnson in the fold, Goff has shown that he’s a top tier quarterback and keeps pulling off wins this season, with the team now 4-1.
What’s wild is that after the Philadelphia Eagle and Buffalo Bills losses over the weekend, no NFL team is undefeated. So, the Lions are tied for the best record in the NFL.
Jared Goff News From the Detroit Lions
After the game, the Detroit Lions made a major, and positive, Goff announcement. The team’s PR account on X shared a post stating, “Lions QB Jared Goff ha
It’s not uncommon for Goff to break records, but to see him tie a record that’s not just for the Lions franchise but for the NFL as a whole is extra special. The Lions have a winner in Goff, and not to jinx it, but this could be the year.
“Most underrated QB in football,” one commenter said in the post. “And people still claim that he’s a fraud,” another joked, noting that he’s obviously the real deal.
The Lions also shared that Goff was their “Player of the Game.” One follower commented, “Great win guys…keep biting them kneecaps.” Another said, “When teamwork comes together with grit, anything is possible.”
Last season, Goff had a career-best 72.4% completion rate. So, he’s still on fire. During Sunday’s game, he had 19-of-23 completed passes (82.6%) for 258 yards, three TDs and no interceptions. It was a clean game.
Jared Goff is Finally Getting Attention
It’s about time that Goff gets some attention. In the NFL’s Week 5 power rankings, out on Tuesday, September 30, and Eric Edholm has the Lions at No. 3, and Goff is a big part of that.
“Detroit was not prolific offensively against Cleveland, but no one has been this season,” Edholm states in the piece. Still, this is the second time in four games where the Lions have been kept somewhat grounded on offense, even if they’ve taken good care of the football. Committing five offensive penalties was out of character, and Detroit’s still trying to hone the connection between Jared Goff and Jameson Williams.”
It would be great to see more connections between Goff and Williams, as he mentions, but a win is a win, and we’ll take it. The Detroit Lions are roaring, and the NFL is listening.
