Dez Bryant's Message on Raiders TE Brock Bowers Is Catching Attention
It's not often that a rookie comes into the NFL and immediately becomes arguably the best player at his position. However, that's exactly what happened with Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers last year.
He broke the rookie record for receptions (including wide receivers) and the record for most receiving yards by a rookie tight end. That's not to mention that he led all tight ends in receptions and receiving yards last season.
While many would argue that George Kittle is still the best tight end due to his impact as a blocker, there's a real case that Bowers is the best pass catcher at the position.
Dez Bryant Adds to Bowers Hype Train
Bowers hasn't had a chance to do much in the preseason, but he did have a highlight reel catch against the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday. Back in 2022, former Dallas Cowboys star wide receiver Dez Bryant had an interesting post on X.
"The best tight end the NFL will ever host is not in the NFL yet… can anybody guess the tight end I’m referring to? He’s a dynamic college athlete," Bryant wrote.
Three years later, Bryant revealed that the player he was talking about was Bowers.
Bryant's Post Catches Attention
These are certainly some bold comments from Bryant. There have been some legendary tight ends to play in the NFL, so proclaiming that Bowers is on track to be the best ever is a big claim.
A lot of fans had things to say about Bryant's proclamation.
"Dez knows ball.. elite take.. thought the same thing once I seen him destroy bama," one fan commented.
"You know ball Dez! You’d be a deadly scout!!!!," another fan wrote.
Some argued that Kittle is better.
"George Kittle clears," a fan wrote.
Travis Kelce and Rob Gronkowski were also mentioned.
"Long long long way to go before he is in the same breath as Kelce or Gronk," one fan noted.
Bowers still has a long career ahead of him, but if he can stay healthy, he could be an all-timer.
