Cowboys Overcome ‘Shameful’ Outing From $136M All-Pro WR CeeDee Lamb
If you want to know the mentality of a diva NFL wide receiver — if you truly want to get in their headspace — then just watch what happened after Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb dropped a touchdown pass that hit him directly in the hands, in the end zone, in a Week 12 win over the Philadelphia Eagles.
After dropping the pass, Lamb returned to the Cowboys bench and was incensed. Not at himself, though. He was mad at Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott for not throwing a better pass.
“The fact that CeeDee Lamb had the audacity to complain about where Dak threw this pass after he DROPPED IT is shameful,” NFL analyst Emmanuel Acho wrote on his official X account.
It was one of 4 drops by Lamb against the Eagles following a 3-drop outing in the 2025 regular season opener against the Eagles. Only this time, it didn’t cost the Cowboys, who pulled off the biggest comeback in franchise history by rallying from a 21-0 deficit for a 24-21 victory.
The Cowboys won despite Lamb’s drops and because of another wide receiver who is quickly establishing himself as one of the NFL’s best — and maybe the best on the Cowboys — after George Pickens put together one highlight reel play after another with 9 receptions for 146 yards and 1 touchdown on 9 targets. It was the second consecutive game for Pickens with over 140 receiving yards.
Lamb had 4 receptions for 48 yards on 11 targets.
“CeeDee Lamb is now tied with Jerry Jeudy for the most drops in the NFL this season (8),” MB Fantasy’s Ian Hartitz wrote on his official X account.
Lamb Roasted on Social Media for Drops
Lamb’s petulant reaction to dropping the pass in the end zone didn’t just catch Acho’s eye — that and his drops led to a social media piling on for the ages.
It was also just one week after both Lamb and Pickens were benched for the first series of a Week 11 win over the Las Vegas Raiders for missing curfew the night before the game following dinner and drinks at a casino.
Lamb, a 2020 first round pick, is playing on a 4-year, $136 million contract extension he signed before the 2024 season and is a 3-time NFL All-Pro and 4-time Pro Bowler through his first 5 seasons.
“Lemme tell ya something……..I been fighting the ‘Pickens is better than Lamb’ crowd for some weeks,” Cowboys superfan Voch Lombardi wrote on his official X account. “Ain’t no more fight. Ceedee still great but GP is Heeeeeeeem.”
“CeeDee Lamb dropping a TD (3rd bad drop today) then pointing to the back corner, looking at Dak To tell him he where he should have thrown it like Dak wasn’t heavily pressured (& then Lamb throws a tantrum on the sideline),” Ryan Knows Ball wrote on his official X account. “INSANE sequence from Lamb.”
Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer, for his part, was unwavering in his support of Lamb headed into a massive, Thanksgiving Day game against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 13.
“The ball’s gonna keep coming his way — When we start drawing up plays for KC, I’ll give them a heads-up: There’ll be a lot going to 88,” Schottenheimer said after the win over the Eagles.

“Honestly, I feel like they f***ed my dog over, you know what I mean?” Micah Parsons said. “He’s coming off a catastrophic knee injury, and I just didn’t think they did right by him. He didn’t participate all camp, and he’s going out there playing Week 1 and 2. I just don’t think you do that to a player like that.
“And the type of knee injury he had, they forced him out there. He has no reps, really. He’s telling me he was in warmup phase during Week 1. Even with the ramp-up, I just feel like you just don’t do that.”
Parsons was Diggs’ teammate when he was with the Cowboys from 2021 to 2024. His comments came after the Cowboys placed Trevon Diggs on injured reserve due to a concussion and a knee injury.

What bothers Parsons is that Diggs has been dealing with the knee injury nearly all year, and he missed all of training camp because he was recovering from having knee surgery, but he continued to play. Diggs has not recently spoken about his health since he’s in concussion protocol.
Diggs’ most recent appearance in a Cowboys game was on Oct. 12 when he recorded three tackles in the team’s 30-27 loss to the Carolina Panthers. After Dallas lost to the Denver Broncos on Sunday, Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer talked about Diggs being placed on injured reserve.
“After visiting with the medical staff, we felt like the best interest of the team and Trevon was to get him back healthy,” Schottenheimer said. “Trevon’s going to work his ass off to get back. He loves playing the game, and I have no question in my mind that he’ll do everything to get back. But part of the deal is it’s not just us. It’s him. It’s the training staff.”
Parsons added that the Cowboys didn’t do Diggs any favors throughout the entire process. “I just feel like they screwed him over,” Parsons told Yahoo Sports. “The organization let him down. You know what I mean? You just don’t do that to a player. And I just think it was mad wrong, and I just pray for him.”
