Brooks Nader Discusses How Heart Shattering Breakup Scene Led to ‘Self-Reflection’

“Dancing with the Stars” pro Gleb Savchenko and his Season 33 partner, Brooks Nader, began their romance as a bit of a showmance, but it developed into something real. Nader has spoken about their relationship and subsequent split in interviews before, including claims that Savchenko cheated on her, and this is how their relationship ended.

In Nader’s new reality TV series “Love Thy Nader,” which premiered on August 26, she stars alongside her three sisters, Mary Holland, Grace Ann, and Sarah Jane Nader. Scenes on the series show the aftermath of her breakup with Savchenko and her heartbreak. In an interview with People, published on August 27, the Nader sisters reflected on how their reaction to the breakup was the most challenging scene to rewatch.

“I think one of the hardest scenes was at the beginning with all of the Gleb drama, just watching Brooks cry, and we feel everything that our sisters feel,” Grace Ann told People. “That was definitely hard to watch back.”

Brooks also commented on the scene, saying, “I think my hardest was seeing my dad’s heart shatter when I was crying on the bathroom floor, and him taking a seat with the girls.” However, there is a silver lining to this heartache, as Brooks was able to examine the scene and reflect on how the relationship dynamics were not healthy for her.

“It was really, really difficult to watch back the relationship and the demise of it unfold,” she shared. “I think it was eye-opening, because I noticed certain things that I might not have noticed throughout the relationship that the girls say were present the entire time. I think it was a great form of self-reflection.”

Brooks also commented on how she was different when she was in a relationship with Savchenko and called it a “bad sign,” noting that a healthier dynamic would have been for her to be “totally, fully” herself.

She continued, “But I think when everything went down and seeing me emotional and seeing me go through that and have to relive that made me realize that I need to trust my next partner because I don’t want to live that again.”

Savchenko has appeared to address the cheating claims about him and his breakup in a video posted on TikTok on August 9. In the clip, he is lip-syncing to a recording. “I don’t know where you got your information from, I don’t know who your source is, but I will be the first one to tell you that is incorrect,” he said. He has also claimed that he will not return to DWTS Season 34, with many fans speculating in the comment section of the post i that is because of the claims Nader made.
