The Denver Broncos are waiting with bated breath on the results of the additional examination for veteran running back J.K. Dobbins following “Thursday Night Football.” Dobbins suffered a foot injury on a hip-drop tackle, and he remains extremely unhappy about it.
He spoke candidly after the game, saying the play, committed by Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Tyree Wilson, should have been called during the game.
Dobbins doubled down on his message as the Broncos received an ominous update.

“BAN OR AT LEAST CALL THE MUTHER F***** HIP DROP TACKLE!” Dobbins posted on X on November 7.
Soon after, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported Dobbins’ status and nebulous outlook.
“Broncos RB JK Dobbins suffered a foot injury on what appeared to be a hip-drop tackle Thursday night against the Raiders and is awaiting a second opinion, per source,” Pelissero reported on X on November 7. “Dobbins still finished the game with two carries on the final drive to close out the win.”
The NFL has fined several players for hip-drop tackles after the fact, but in-game calls have been scarce and remain a source of consternation.
Dobbins spoke with the media postgame and said in the immediate aftermath that he was “good,” despite a noticeable limp during the game after the hit. He notably never received medical attention on the sidelines, instead joining his teammates on the bench.
“I just got hip-dropped,” Dobbins told reporters on November 6. “I had a little limp there, but it wasn’t bad. I’m all good. The hip drop should have been called, though.”
Time will tell if Dobbins, the Broncos’ most consistent source of offense, will truly be okay.
J.K. Dobbins’ Injury History Looms Large

The Broncos signed Dobbins to a one-year, $2 million contract in free agency this past offseason. But the former Baltimore Ravens second-round pick came with an extensive injury history.
That looms incredibly large following the news of his injury.
Dobbins, who played for the Los Angeles Chargers in 2024, has never played in more than 15 games in a season, missing multiple games in four of his previous five campaigns. He has never started more than 11 games in a single season.
The Broncos prepared themselves for such a development, even before signing Dobbins.
Denver drafted RJ Harvey with the No. 60 overall pick in the 2025 draft. A dual-threat, Harvey has been primarily utilized as a pass-catcher out of the backfield this season.
That could change if Dobbins is forced to miss any time or the Broncos err on the side of caution. To that end, having 10 days before their next game helps. Still, losing Dobbins would be a significant blow for an already-inconsistent offense.

Dobbins’ injury looms even larger with a potentially critical matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs on tap. Broncos head coach Sean Payton did not shy away from the significance of the contest against their battle-tested AFC West rivals.
“These guys will be back Monday, and we know we got a big one coming up against Kansas City,” Payton told reporters on November 6. “The staff and the players will have this time away.”
The Broncos will have an even tougher time if they are missing Dobbins.
Bo Nix Makes Bold Statement: Rejects Million-Dollar Gambling Deals, Says 'I Won’t Sell My Soul for Sponsorships

Denver, CO — November 2025
In a jaw-dropping move that has left the sports world buzzing, Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix has turned down multiple six-figure sponsorship offers from some of the biggest gambling companies in the industry. His refusal to partner with the booming gambling sector has sent shockwaves through the NFL, challenging the ever-growing presence of betting giants in professional sports.
As gambling sponsorships explode across the league, Nix’s rejection is not just a personal decision—it’s a bold public statement that cuts against the grain of the modern sports marketing machine. In a world where athletes are cashing in on endorsements from casinos, betting apps, and sportsbooks, Nix has chosen to stand alone, prioritizing personal values over financial gain.
“I was offered a lot of money, more than most people would turn down,” Nix confessed in a recent explosive interview. “But I won’t sell my soul for sponsorships. I’m not going to put my name behind something I don’t believe in. This is about integrity. It’s bigger than just football—it’s about sending the right message to the next generation.”
The NFL’s relationship with the gambling industry has become one of the most controversial topics in modern sports. With leagues like the NFL embracing massive sponsorship deals from betting companies, many have raised concerns about the long-term impact on players, fans, and the integrity of the game. Yet, Nix’s brave stance is a rare, and perhaps groundbreaking, rejection of the money-fueled tide sweeping through the league.
“Gambling has become a juggernaut in this sport, and I get it. The money is huge,” Nix continued. “But for me, it’s about doing the right thing, even if it’s not the easy thing. These companies, they don’t care about the fans who get sucked into this addiction. They don’t care about the kids watching on TV who think it’s normal to bet on every play. I care about my fans, and I’m not going to be part of that.”
Nix’s decision has sparked a massive backlash, with some critics accusing him of “leaving money on the table” and “hurting his brand.” But in a time when athletes are often criticized for their lack of activism, Nix’s refusal to align himself with gambling companies has earned him widespread praise as a true leader with unwavering principles. His stance has ignited a conversation about the growing ethical dilemma athletes face as sports betting continues to take center stage in the industry.
“This is a career-defining moment for Bo Nix,” said a former NFL executive. “In a league where athletes are quick to sign lucrative endorsement deals with gambling companies, Nix is drawing a line in the sand. This move may cost him millions, but he’s making a statement that goes beyond football.”
Nix, who has quickly become one of the most marketable stars in the NFL, is setting a new standard for what it means to be a role model. His decision to decline these lucrative sponsorship offers is about more than just one player’s integrity; it’s about changing the narrative around the commercialization of professional sports and the gambling industry's encroachment on every corner of the game.
The timing of Nix’s decision is especially significant as the Broncos prepare for a pivotal Week 10 matchup that could determine their playoff hopes. With all eyes on him, Nix's refusal to endorse gambling companies is positioning him as one of the most compelling figures in the NFL, not just for his performance on the field, but for his unflinching stance off it.
“The NFL is flooded with gambling ads—on the field, on social media, everywhere,” Nix added. “But I’m not going to be part of that. I’m here to play football, and I want to inspire the next generation to be better than that. My legacy isn’t about money or who I’m sponsored by. It’s about how I carried myself.”
As the gambling industry continues to carve out its place in professional sports, Bo Nix’s rejection serves as a powerful reminder that some athletes are willing to make personal sacrifices for the sake of their values. His message is clear: no endorsement deal is worth compromising one’s integrity—and that’s a lesson worth remembering, both on and off the field.
