Bo Nix Makes Bold Statement: Rejects Million-Dollar Gambling Deals, Says 'I Won’t Sell My Soul for Sponsorships
Denver, CO — November 2025
In a jaw-dropping move that has left the sports world buzzing, Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix has turned down multiple six-figure sponsorship offers from some of the biggest gambling companies in the industry. His refusal to partner with the booming gambling sector has sent shockwaves through the NFL, challenging the ever-growing presence of betting giants in professional sports.
As gambling sponsorships explode across the league, Nix’s rejection is not just a personal decision—it’s a bold public statement that cuts against the grain of the modern sports marketing machine. In a world where athletes are cashing in on endorsements from casinos, betting apps, and sportsbooks, Nix has chosen to stand alone, prioritizing personal values over financial gain.
“I was offered a lot of money, more than most people would turn down,” Nix confessed in a recent explosive interview. “But I won’t sell my soul for sponsorships. I’m not going to put my name behind something I don’t believe in. This is about integrity. It’s bigger than just football—it’s about sending the right message to the next generation.”
The NFL’s relationship with the gambling industry has become one of the most controversial topics in modern sports. With leagues like the NFL embracing massive sponsorship deals from betting companies, many have raised concerns about the long-term impact on players, fans, and the integrity of the game. Yet, Nix’s brave stance is a rare, and perhaps groundbreaking, rejection of the money-fueled tide sweeping through the league.
“Gambling has become a juggernaut in this sport, and I get it. The money is huge,” Nix continued. “But for me, it’s about doing the right thing, even if it’s not the easy thing. These companies, they don’t care about the fans who get sucked into this addiction. They don’t care about the kids watching on TV who think it’s normal to bet on every play. I care about my fans, and I’m not going to be part of that.”
Nix’s decision has sparked a massive backlash, with some critics accusing him of “leaving money on the table” and “hurting his brand.” But in a time when athletes are often criticized for their lack of activism, Nix’s refusal to align himself with gambling companies has earned him widespread praise as a true leader with unwavering principles. His stance has ignited a conversation about the growing ethical dilemma athletes face as sports betting continues to take center stage in the industry.
“This is a career-defining moment for Bo Nix,” said a former NFL executive. “In a league where athletes are quick to sign lucrative endorsement deals with gambling companies, Nix is drawing a line in the sand. This move may cost him millions, but he’s making a statement that goes beyond football.”
Nix, who has quickly become one of the most marketable stars in the NFL, is setting a new standard for what it means to be a role model. His decision to decline these lucrative sponsorship offers is about more than just one player’s integrity; it’s about changing the narrative around the commercialization of professional sports and the gambling industry's encroachment on every corner of the game.
The timing of Nix’s decision is especially significant as the Broncos prepare for a pivotal Week 10 matchup that could determine their playoff hopes. With all eyes on him, Nix's refusal to endorse gambling companies is positioning him as one of the most compelling figures in the NFL, not just for his performance on the field, but for his unflinching stance off it.
“The NFL is flooded with gambling ads—on the field, on social media, everywhere,” Nix added. “But I’m not going to be part of that. I’m here to play football, and I want to inspire the next generation to be better than that. My legacy isn’t about money or who I’m sponsored by. It’s about how I carried myself.”
As the gambling industry continues to carve out its place in professional sports, Bo Nix’s rejection serves as a powerful reminder that some athletes are willing to make personal sacrifices for the sake of their values. His message is clear: no endorsement deal is worth compromising one’s integrity—and that’s a lesson worth remembering, both on and off the field.
Chiefs’ Xavier Worthy looks to expand foundation to support single Kansas City mothers
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy used the team’s bye week to hold a luncheon with city leaders and local non-profits in search of new partnerships and donations to expand his foundation to the metro area, focusing on supporting single mothers and their children.
Worthy’s foundation, “The Worthy 1s,” aims to reach Kansas City’s large population of single mothers. According to Rachel Segobia, executive director of The Single Mom KC organization, Kansas City has “over 61,000 single mothers raising more than 115,000 children.”
Worthy and his mother Nicky Jones understand the challenges facing single-parent households firsthand. Long before he went pro, Jones was a single mother raising Worthy.
“I was a young single mom starting out with Xavier, and there’s a lot of struggles that come with that,” Jones said. “I was just talking with someone about the struggles, trying to keep food on the table, a roof over your head, the lights on.”

Worthy recalled specific hardships from his childhood.
“The power company shut off our lights for about two months,” Worthy said. “I knew what struggle looked like.”
The Worthy 1s has operated in Austin, Texas, where Worthy attended college, and his hometown of Fresno, California. The Kansas City expansion offers the same eight core programs:
- Back2School Grants provide financial support, laptops and resources for mothers returning to school.
- Financial Empowerment & Literacy Workshop Sessions teach budgeting, credit building and money management skills for single-parent households.
- Workshop Sessions equip single mothers with tools to strengthen mental, emotional and physical well-being.
- Youth R.I.S.E. offers mentorship, sports activities and family engagement in schools, juvenile facilities and community spaces.
- Youth Sports Camps provide skills-based experiences teaching discipline, confidence and teamwork.
- Community Engagement Luncheons & Brunch Eventscreate spaces for single mothers to connect and support one another.
- Winter Back2School Coat & Shoe Drives provide new coats and shoes to children from single-parent households.
- Worthy Spotlight is a verbal affirmation program designed to boost confidence in single-parent families.
Jones said the foundation will provide direct financial assistance through grant-based programs for mothers returning to school and programs for children. Segobia said the foundation addresses key challenges facing single mothers.
“Loneliness and isolation, I think that’s something all mothers experience, but in particular single motherhood can be lonely and isolating,” Segobia said. “That’s one area we look into, how are we building communities of support, communities of hope.”
The foundation plans to expand its youth programming. Jackson County Prosecutor Melesa Johnson, who appeared at a foundation luncheon, said she plans to have Worthy visit the Hilltop Juvenile Detention Center to guide young people.
