BEN JOHNSON DECLARES: 'THIS WIN IS JUST THE BEGINNING—WE’RE HERE TO DOMINATE AND NOTHING LESS!'
After the Chicago Bears' dominant 31-14 victory over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 3, new head coach Ben Johnson was full of energy and motivation, delivering a powerful message to his team. “WE’VE JUST STARTED. THIS WIN IS GOOD, BUT IT’S NOT ENOUGH. WE’RE HERE TO BE GREAT, AND NOTHING LESS WILL DO. WE’RE GOING TO KEEP PUSHING UNTIL WE REACH THE TOP. EVERY GAME FROM HERE ON OUT IS A STEP TOWARD WHAT WE WANT TO BE. WE'RE HERE TO DOMINATE, AND THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT WE'RE GOING TO DO,” Johnson said with unmatched confidence and determination.
The Bears, led by their dynamic rookie quarterback Caleb Williams, showcased their explosive offensive power in the first half, quickly putting the Cowboys on their heels. However, the team’s performance wasn’t just about securing a victory—it was about setting a tone for the rest of the season. Johnson’s speech highlights the mentality shift that has come with his appointment as head coach: no more settling for mediocrity. The goal is to dominate and to do so consistently.
Johnson’s approach to leadership has already had a profound impact on the team. His message is clear—he expects excellence at all times. This mindset is critical for a team that, despite flashes of brilliance, has struggled to find consistency in recent seasons. The Bears have a young but talented roster, and Johnson is determined to mold them into a team capable of achieving greatness.
The first-half dominance in the Cowboys game wasn’t just about big plays; it was a testament to the offensive system Johnson is building. Quarterback Caleb Williams threw multiple touchdown passes, including one to the ever-dangerous Rome Odunze, while the running game started to come alive in the second half. The defense, spearheaded by the ever-reliable defensive line, kept the Cowboys at bay when the game got tight. The balanced performance showcased the potential the Bears have when all aspects of the team click.
But Johnson knows that this victory is just a stepping stone. “We’re not satisfied with just this,” he explained. “This is a building block. We know we’ve got a lot of work to do, and we’ve got to stay focused on the next game. Every opponent is a new challenge, and we’ll be ready.”
As the Bears now look ahead to their Week 4 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders, Johnson’s message will surely keep the team grounded and motivated. There is no time to celebrate too long; the Bears have set their sights on bigger goals. Johnson’s leadership and commitment to relentless improvement will be key to the team’s success as they work toward their ultimate goal: domination.
The Bears have their work cut out for them, but with a coach like Ben Johnson at the helm, they have every reason to believe they are capable of reaching the top.
Quinyon Mitchell made Davante Adams eat his pre-game words in Eagles win over Rams

The Philadelphia Eagles were going to need an All-Pro performance from second-year cornerback Quinyon Mitchell against the Los Angeles Rams.
Per the NFL's Next Gen Stats , that's precisely what he delivered. With the task of "locking down" future NFL Hall of Famer Davante Adams, Mitchell put together one of the better performances for a cornerback during this young season, helping the Eagles pull off a 33-26 comeback win over the Rams.
How Mitchell flexed his muscles and dominated Adams from start to finish
Mitchell and Adams competed against each other 27 times during their Week 3 matchup, out of 34 routes run by Adams. On 22 out of those 27 reps, Mitchell was directly covering Adams after the snap. Adams mustered two receptions for 12 yards against Mitchell, on five targets.
Quinyon Mitchell shadowed Davante Adams on 27 of 34 routes in Week 3 (79.4%). It was the first game of his career where he shadowed a receiver on over 60% of their routes.

Now that's not to say Adams didn't have a decent game or an impact in Week 3, as the first-year Ram still managed to find the end zone, on a 44-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter with 1:20 remaining. Adams' touchdown reception came against Eagles safety Reed Blankenship, who found himself "tangled up" with a possible "push off" from Adams.
"Next Gen Stats" also relayed that it was the first time in Mitchell's career that he was specifically shadowing a certain player. Mitchell shadowed Adams on 79.4% of his routes, as prior to this game, he'd never shadowed a receiver over 60% of the time.
With Mitchell continuing to develop into one of the NFL's top cornerbacks, it's only a matter of time before Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio starts to expect more of the 2024 first-round pick. Mitchell's performance also came on the same day that Adams gave Mitchell a back-handed compliment.
“He’s a great young player ... But I’m hoping I can show him a few things he's never seen, never had to deal with before today.”
After allowing only two catches for 12 yards against Adams, it appears that Mitchell has now shown the future Hall of Famer a few things he has never seen or dealt with before Sunday
Mitchell and the Eagles turn their attention to Week 4, as they travel to Tampa Bay to take on the Buccaneers, who are also 3-0.
