Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell delivers hilarious mic'd up moment vs. Patriots: 'Oh no, f— this'
The preseason is all about experimentation in the NFL, and Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell was excited to see what his team could do on Saturday — until he wasn't.
The reigning Coach of the Year was gracious enough to wear a microphone and talk to the broadcast during the third quarter of Minnesota's preseason contest with the Patriots, but the team didn't exactly cooperate with his grand plans.
Here's what happened when things went awry.

Kevin O'Connell NSFW mic'd up interview
"I'm excited about this year's team and excited about this play-call, fellas," O'Connell said. When asked about the play, he tried to explain, "We've got a fast-motion..." before cutting himself off. "Oh no, f— this," O'Connell said, clearly frustrated with the formation before the ball was even snapped.
The Vikings were called for an illegal formation penalty, though a defensive holding penalty on the Patriots moved them right back to 1st-and-10 on the next play.
"So, right there we got a guy in motion, and then we reset, so that'll go back to a first-and-15," O'Connell said, explaining that the play was an example of "little" mistakes that the Vikings need to clean up.
Fortunately for O'Connell, his starters weren't in for the play, which did seem to be executed well outside of the motion penalty. Undrafted QB Max Brosmer, who spent his final collegiate season at Minnesota, was under center, and the microphone also caught O'Connell giving credit to Brosmer despite the botched play.
Could we one day see NFL head coaches behind the microphone during a regular season game? O'Connell's hilarious moment on Saturday illustrates why it would be so entertaining — and why it will likely never happen.
