Trade Details Revealed as Packers Send $64 Million DT and Draft Picks for Micah Parsons
After much speculation, numerous outlets have confirmed the player Green Bay is sending to Dallas. The Packers recently completed a trade for Micah Parsons, one that took them multiple first round picks to pull off.
At 26-years-old, the Packers made Parsons the highest paid non-QB in the league, by far. His contracted was completed upon the trade, one that Packers fans quickly realized included a fan favorite.
Kenny Clark Sent to Cowboys Along With Two First-Round Picks
With Mark Murphy’s tenure as president complete, Ed Policy made sure his tenure kicked off with a bang. Green Bay was able to pull off one of, if not the biggest trade in the team’s history. Searching for their first Super Bowl since 2011, their quest got much easier.

Parsons made it very clear he no longer wanted to play for the Cowboys. With Dallas beginning to hear out offers, he ended up coming to the team that embarrassed them in the playoffs two years ago.
Not everything can be good news in Green Bay as their draft stock for the next few years took a hit. The Packers were forced to deal two of their future first-round picks. Not only that, but Kenny Clark was included in the deal.

Clark was drafted by the Packers in 2016. He spent every season in Green Bay, proving he’s worth every bit of the $64M the team gave him. Now, the Cowboys will have him under contract through the 2026 season.
While the years were not specified, it’s been confirmed that a pair of first round picks were necessary to get the Parsons deal done. Not having a first round pick will hurt, but at the end of the day it only required two picks and a player.
Kenny Clark’s Tenure in Green Bay Comes to an End
Green Bay knew they saw something special in Clark when they selected him No. 27 overall. He proved his worth in his nine-seasons on the team. Clark was still on the team when Mike McCarthy was head coach which tells you how long he’s been around. Thankfully for him, McCarthy was just relieved of his duties in Dallas.

Clark has played in all 17 games for the past three seasons. He’s never played fewer than 13 games in a season, with those years (2018 and 2020) being quite a bit ago. It’s worth noting his sack count went from seven and a half in 2023 to just one last season.
The DT saw a slight decrease in production as his total number of tackles fell from 44 to 37. With 20 solo tackles, the lone year he had under that number was in his 2016 rookie season. Clark had as many as 36 back in ’18.

Pro Football Focus gave Clark a 59.3 overall rating. In comparison, Parsons came in at an even 90.0. It’s hard to compare the two, but the number is alarming.
At 29-years-old, the Packers are trading Clark for four guaranteed years of 26-year-old Parsons. By the time Parsons first contract with the team expires, he’ll only be one year older than Clark was when they traded him.
