Saints sign hard-charging former Pittsburgh Steelers running back
The New Orleans Saints have signed former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Evan Hull, according to the league’s translation wire. Hull was with the Steelers for all of training camp and the preseason but they released him by the end of it.

Hull was the Colts’ fifth-round pick out of Northwestern in the 2023 NFL Draft. He has just one rush attempt in his career for a yard, but the 5-foot-10, 210-pound running back impressed with above-average athleticism.
Hull ran a 4.47 40-yard dash and posted a 37-inch vertical jump. The Colts did not re-sign him following the season and now lands with the Steelers.
At Northwestern, Hull ran for over 2000 yards while adding 891 receiving yards. Now with the Saints, he has a chance to climb the depth chart after Kendre Miler’s season ending knee injury.
For the Steelers, they have five running backs in the organization and as of now, all of those players remain healthy, signaling a likelihood that they will not have to go externally to make a move at that spot anytime soon.
