The 2025 NFL season hasn’t gone as planned for the Las Vegas Raiders, and with a 2-7 record, questions about the coaching staff are emerging as the front office starts looking to the 2026 campaign.
NFL teams aren’t shy about firing a coach after just one season if the team has had a disastrous showing. If this season hits rock bottom and there are no positive signs to hold on to, whether it’s rookies starting to hit their stride or the play improving, Carroll could be done with the Raiders.
Amid Year 1 with Carroll being unsuccessful, FOX Sports Radio’s Rob Parker believes that the Raiders should hit the reset button and fire the 74-year-old.
“If I’m the Raiders, Mark Davis, there [are] two things I’m doing in the offseason,” Park said on the November 7 edition of
“I’m sending him to a home care facility with some money. Thank you, Pete, very much. But there’s no way I’m going forward. This isn’t like other aspects of the team. The quarterback just really played poorly this year, and we could see everything. This team is awful. Just awful.”
Should the Raiders Regret Hiring Pete Carroll?
Moreover, Parker took a victory lap, noting that this hire of Carroll by the Raiders was going to blow up in the franchise’s face. He states that Las Vegas didn’t have the squad in place that required a veteran head coach like Carroll, and instead, this appears to be a rebuild, which might not suit the former
“There’s no future here,“ Parker added. “It doesn’t make sense. You’re not like, ‘Man, we got everything in place. We just need a veteran coach who could guide the locker room, you know what I mean, and rally the troops.
Will the Raiders Stick by Pete Carroll?
Despite Parker’s suggestion for the Raiders to fire Carroll, NBC Sports NFL insider Mike Florio believes the head coach will survive, and the coach to get the axe will be offensive coordinator Chip Kelly.
“I feel like it’s not sustainable between the two of them,“ Florio said on the November 7 edition of “Pro Football Talk.” “And frankly, between the two, all due respect to Chip Kelly, I’m keeping Pete Carroll. I’m keeping Pete Carroll because Pete Carroll has accomplished things in the NFL. Chip Kelly has accomplished nothin
“Chip Kelly has done nothing to prove that he’s got NFL chops. I was surprised they hired him. And again, was it a Brady hire? Was it a Brady recommendation? I don’t know. But I feel like when this season ends, one of those two guys is going to be gone between Carroll and Kelly. And my guess is it is gonna be Kelly.”
Saints Reveal Shocking Truth About Tyler Shough with Rashid Shaheed Trade: Is the Rookie QB Already on the Chopping Block?

The New Orleans Saints made a surprising move before the NFL’s trade deadline, shipping wide receiver

Shaheed, who had been one of the Saints' most explosive playmakers this season, was also Shough’s second-best weapon. The trade raises serious questions about how the Saints' front office views their rookie quarterback, and whether
A Clear Signal About Shough's Future
When the Saints selected Tyler Shough in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft, expectations were high. The former
Now, just one game into his role as starter, Shough has already seen one of his top receiving options,
"When you draft a young quarterback, you surround him with weapons. You don’t trade them away. But that's exactly what the Saints have done,"
said NFL analyst John Dorsey. "This trade makes it crystal clear that New Orleans is not putting all their chips on Shough to be their guy."
Why the Trade Speaks Volumes
Typically, when a franchise believes they’ve found their quarterback of the future, the focus shifts to building around him with as many weapons as possible. Shaheed, with his big-play potential, was one of the few bright spots in the Saints' offense. By letting him go, the front office is sending a message that Shough’s development isn’t their primary concern right now.
The Saints have already made it clear they have no patience for Shough’s development. This trade essentially reduces his offensive support even further, making it even more difficult for the young quarterback to succeed. Without
What’s Next for Tyler Shough?
It’s becoming increasingly likely that the Saints’ long-term plans don’t involve
If Shough fails to impress in the remaining weeks of the season, the Saints will likely turn their attention to the growing pool of talented quarterbacks expected to enter the draft next year. This trade could very well be the first domino in a bigger overhaul of the Saints’ roster — and it doesn’t bode well for Shough.
Is This the End of Shough's Era in New Orleans?
It’s still early in Shough's career, but with this trade, the writing seems to be on the wall. The Saints may already be planning to part ways with the rookie, making it a long road ahead for him in New Orleans. With the 2026 NFL Draft just around the corner, Tyler Shough might find himself looking for a new home sooner rather than later.
