Raiders Star Promises George Pickens: 'You’ll Find a Team Hungry to Win and Ready to Rise Together'
As the NFL trade deadline approaches, speculation about potential moves is heating up, and one of the most talked-about scenarios involves the Las Vegas Raiders and Pittsburgh Steelers’ standout wide receiver, George Pickens. With the Raiders looking to bolster their offense and continue their push for the playoffs, one of the team’s stars has weighed in on what Pickens could expect if he were to join the silver and black.
“If George Pickens comes to the Raiders, he’s going to find exactly what he’s looking for: a team that’s hungry to win,” said one Raiders star, speaking on the potential acquisition of the talented wide receiver. This statement reflects the Raiders’ mindset as they gear up for the rest of the season—focused on improving and making a real run for the playoffs. The confidence within the locker room is palpable, and the addition of a player like Pickens could only enhance that energy.
A Locker Room Full of Competitors
With a roster full of talent and determination, the Raiders are a team that thrives on competition. “We’ve got a locker room full of guys who push each other every day,” the Raiders player continued. “A player like Pickens would only make us stronger.” The Raiders have built a culture of growth and support, where players challenge one another to be their best on and off the field. Pickens, known for his fiery attitude and explosive playmaking ability, could quickly fit into this environment, pushing the team to even greater heights.
For a player like Pickens, who has excelled in his time with the Steelers, stepping into a team with such a driven, competitive culture could be exactly what he needs to take his game to the next level. His unique skill set—combined with the Raiders’ aggressive offensive style—could create a dangerous combination that would give defenses across the league trouble.
Rising Together for the Future
The Raiders player emphasized the team’s unity and collective mindset, stating, “If the move happens, we’ll rise together and show the league what this team is made of.” This reflects the collective determination within the locker room to not just make the playoffs but to go further. With Pickens added to the mix, the Raiders could have a formidable receiving corps, adding depth to an already potent offense led by Derek Carr and a well-rounded backfield.
The Raiders’ commitment to each other and their collective success is evident in their words and actions. With a locker room that is focused on both individual and team growth, the addition of a player like Pickens could propel the Raiders to new heights.
Looking Ahead
As the trade deadline draws closer, the Raiders are poised to make critical decisions to further strengthen their roster. Whether it’s adding George Pickens or exploring other moves, the team remains focused on the ultimate goal: to rise together as a unit and prove to the league that they are contenders. With a team that is hungry, motivated, and ready to compete, the Raiders are ready to make their mark.
'We'll see how he turns over' -- Kevin O'Connell's answer on Thursday night's starting quarterback remains open ended

The Minnesota Vikings have now lost their third game of the 2025 season, two and a half months before they did in the 2024 season, with a 28-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
There are multiple elements of the game that we can point to in how the game went. The red zone offense was brutal on the day, dropping from 66.7% to 52.4% on the season with a 1-6 performance in the most important area of the field. The biggest factor in those failures was quarterback Carson Wentz.
Going into a short week, the Vikings need to figure out what went wrong and fix it.
Kevin O'Connell undecided on starting quarterback vs. Chargers
We didn't know who the starting quarterback was going to be against the Eagles until Friday after practice, and head coach Kevin O'Connell kept the door open on that topic.
"First and foremost, I thought he competed and got to see how he comes out [of this game] health-wise," said O'Connell. "He took some [shots]. He had to use his legs there a couple of times on the last drive. We'll see how he turns over. I know Max was ready to go today, and J.J. [McCarthy] was the emergency three, but J.J. was able to get some work last week. We'll see how he feels as well. And on a short week, we're going to put together the best plan we can. And that also includes the players available to us."
It makes sense why the Vikings would want to keep the starting quarterback situation fluid. Wentz was objectively bad the entirety of the day on Sunday afternoon. He was consistently missing throws deep down the field, not seeing the field well, and didn't trust his eyes. That's been littered all over his film this season, and it continued on Sunday.
If McCarthy, who is still recovering from the high-ankle sprain that he suffered in week two, ends up being ready, it could be exactly what this offense needs to get some consistency. Now, that's a lot to ask for with a first-time starting quarterback who has only started two games in his two-year career. However, the Vikings need to do something to figure out the offense.
We can confidently say the answer is Wentz.
