Patrick Mahomes Confident Chiefs Are on the Path to Greatness: ‘We’ve Got What It Takes’
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has never been one to shy away from high expectations. After all, with a Super Bowl ring, MVP honors, and numerous accolades already to his name, he’s proven time and again that he has what it takes to lead his team to greatness. However, in a recent interview, Mahomes shared that he believes the Chiefs are only just scratching the surface of their potential, emphasizing that this team is on a path to even greater success.
“I know what I bring to the field, and I’m confident in my team,” Mahomes said. “We’ve got the talent, we’ve got the leadership, and we’re ready to dominate. This is just the beginning—we’re on the path to greatness.”

Mahomes’ words resonate deeply within the Chiefs’ locker room, where he’s not just the face of the franchise, but also a motivating force for his teammates. His unwavering belief in his team is evident every time he steps onto the field. Whether it’s his calm demeanor under pressure or his ability to make the big play in clutch moments, Mahomes continues to inspire confidence in those around him.
The Chiefs have seen tremendous success under Mahomes' leadership, including a Super Bowl victory in 2020 and consistent playoff appearances. But Mahomes is not content to rest on those past accomplishments. He understands that the key to sustained greatness lies in continued growth and improvement.
“We’ve got the pieces,” Mahomes continued. “We’ve got the right leaders in the locker room, and we’ve got the talent on the field. Now it’s about execution, and we’re ready to put in the work to make sure we take it to the next level.”
This season, the Chiefs are once again one of the most formidable teams in the NFL. With Mahomes at the helm, the offense remains explosive, featuring standout players like wide receiver Tyreek Hill, tight end Travis Kelce, and running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire. The addition of rookie playmakers and the growth of young talents only strengthens Mahomes’ confidence in the team’s future.
However, Mahomes’ focus is not just on offense. He’s quick to recognize the improvements in the Chiefs’ defense, which has been crucial in their push toward another championship run. The Chiefs’ defense has been solidifying its identity, with players like Chris Jones and Tyrann Mathieu stepping up to make critical plays when it matters most. Mahomes knows that for the Chiefs to reach their full potential, the defense will need to continue to grow and be just as dominant as the offense.
As the season progresses, the Chiefs’ sights are firmly set on winning another Super Bowl, but Mahomes insists that it’s not just about one goal—it’s about setting a standard of excellence that lasts for years to come.
“We’re building something special here,” Mahomes said. “It’s not just about this season. It’s about creating a legacy, and that’s what we’re focused on. We’ve got what it takes to be great for a long time, and that’s exactly what we’re going to do.”
With Mahomes leading the charge, there’s little doubt that the Chiefs will continue to be a force in the NFL. Whether it’s executing flawless plays, adapting to new challenges, or rallying around each other, the Chiefs are well on their way to fulfilling Mahomes’ belief that they are on the path to greatness.
Jordan Love Addresses Separated Shoulder Injury After Packers Win

For the Packers, the injury news of late has been so focused on the knee of Josh Jacobs and the possible return of Jayden Reed that it was easy to overlook the fact that star quarterback Jordan Love is not exactly 100% either. Love injured his shoulder last week against the Giants, but the injury was to his non-throwing shoulder, and Love himself downplayed its severity.

On Sunday morning, though, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport noted that the Love injury probably should be taken more seriously.
Wrote Rapoport: “#Packers QB Jordan Love is a go today, but he’ll be fighting through an AC joint sprain in his left shoulder. This injury (aka separated shoulder) left Love visibly bruised and if it was his right shoulder, he wouldn’t be playing. Instead, he was full go in practice.”
So when Love led the Packers to a methodical, workmanlike 23-6 win over the Vikings on Sunday, in which he went just 14-for-21 passing with no touchdowns and 139 yards, concern about his health shot up immediately.
Jordan Love: ‘I’m Good’
But after the win, Love downplayed, as usual, the notion that he is hurt or that the shoulder affected his play.
“I’m good, I am good,” he said. “I took a couple hits but you know, I am feeling good right now.”
The downturn in Love’s statistical production was not necessarily a factor of the shoulder. It was just that backup running back Emanuel Wilson performed so admirably in place of Jacobs, going for 107 yards on 28 carries.
“Some of it was just the way we were running it on early downs and so I think you just keep flowing with that momentum and you keep trying to pound it,” Love said. “The O-line was doing a great job on them. So, keep trusting that. The defense was balling out and getting a lot of stops. I think that plays a part in it, too. They were imposing their will up front and we’ve got to keep rolling with that.”
Packers Defense Dominated
Indeed, the defense was impressive on Sunday, as the Packers held Minnesota to just 145 yards of offense and only 10 first downs. Green Bay dominated with 37:15 in time of possession, to just 22:45 for the Vikings.
And the Packers forced two interceptions and a lost fumble.
Said Love: “The mindset going into it is always winning the turnover battle. We did that today. You get into it and the defense is balling like that, coming up with stop after stop, that mindset is keep taking care of the ball and don’t make mistakes. And keep hammering away at it. Keep putting together some good drives, and we did that.”
Jordan Love Impressed With Packers’ Emanuel Wilson
All that gave the game the feel of a mid-1960s Big Ten battle, with a rough-and-tumble defense and a stalwart running back. The Packers are likely to get Jacobs back on Thursday, when they play the Lions, but Wilson made a remarkable accounting of himself.
The mindset going into it is always winning the turnover battle. We did that today. You get into it and the defense is balling like that, coming up with stop after stop, that mindset is keep taking care of the ball and don’t make mistakes. And keep hammering away at it. Keep putting together some good drives, and we did that.
“Obviously, (Wilson) did a lot of great things last week and he is a guy that we’ve got confidence in,” Love said.
“For him to be able to find out that as well, that Josh wasn’t going, I think he was preparing mentally all week to be the guy, and then to find out and come out here and have over 100 yards, and break off some of the runs that he did was pretty cool. So great job by him and stuff to keep building on and for him to just keep being ready when that opportunity presents itself, and to take advantage of it the more carries he got.”
