Packers’ Undrafted Rookie Breaks Silence on Stress of Final Roster Cuts
All there is to do now for Packers players on the bubble, and bubble players across the NFL, is wait.
The preseason is over, the performances have been put on film, but the final decisions over who makes up the 53 man rosters for the Packers and 31 other teams will be debated by coaches and executives until just before Tuesday’s 4 p.m. deadline to set an inital 53-man roster.
Packers’ Nazir Stackhouse Opens Up About Roster Situation
For each of the past 20 seasons, an undrafted rookie has made the Packers’ roster.
This season, that could be former Georgia defensive tackle Nazir Stackhouse made a compelling case this summer to extend the streak to 21 years.
“All I can do is be thankful for the opportunity and I feel I did good,” Stackhouse recently told the team’s official website. “I’m just glad I was able to showcase my talents, showcase what I can provide for the team with the opportunities they gave me.”
