Lions Jared Goff Will Make Special Guest Appearance on 'ManningCast'
Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff is scheduled to make an appearance this week on ESPN's 'ManningCast,' which is hosted by Peyton and Eli Manning.
Detroit's veteran signal-caller is scheduled to appear midway through the first half during the Kansas City Chiefs home contest against the Washington Commanders.

Last week, the 31-year-old was asked how much growth he had found in his later years of playing the game of football at the highest level.
“A ton. I mean my later years, yeah. Yeah, for now, yes. A ton really. I mean I really have. You work every offseason to find that one percent and I feel like I’ve worked hard to try to find that every year and try to get better, improve on things," said Goff. "I feel like I have improved on some things and always looking to improve.
"I think at my position in quarterback, you do have a little bit of a longer runway to continue to see things and get better and your physical prowess isn’t quite as important as you get older," Goff added. "It’s more mental and getting rid of the ball and being accurate and that whole thing. So, it’s stuff I work on and it’s paid dividends in the last few years.”
More respect
NFL reporter Diani Russini recently spoke to a high-ranking league source and what she heard back has been discussed by many Lions' supporters.
Since Goff was traded to Detroit, he has steadily improved and is now leading one of the top scoring offenses in the league.
Since he was essentially discarded by the Rams, many believed that the former No. 1 overall pick was simply a bridge quarterback in Motown.
Instead, he has become one of the most accurate passers and is currently in the prime of his NFL career.
"It's been hard for people to get past the fact that Sean McVay got rid of him," a high-ranking league source expressed. "That's why people thought he wasn't good. But they need to move on and see what he's doing now."
Detroit currently is averaging 30.7 points per game, despite having a new offensive coordinator at the helm.
Accordint to Russini, "Yes, Dan Campbell deserves credit. The well-caffeinated force of nature has turned around this franchise alongside GM Brad Holmes, and a big part of that was restoring confidence in his QB. Their faith in him helped change his own belief. This isn’t the same Jared Goff who shrank under Super Bowl pressure years ago. And it’s time people noticed."

Another Troubling Arrest for Former Commanders RB Adrian Peterson

Add another chapter to the sad drama that’s become the post-football life of former Washington Commanders running back and 2012 NFL Most Valuable Player Adrian Peterson.

According to TMZ, Peterson was arrested on DWI and weapons charges in Texas on Sunday, October 26.
It’s the second DWI arrest in 2025 for Peterson, who was arrested in April in Minnesota on a DWI charge following his appearance at an NFL draft party.
Peterson was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2007 NFL draft. He played for the Vikings from 2007 to 2016 and played for the Commanders in 2018 and 2019.
From TMZ: “According to online records, Peterson was arrested in Sugar Land, Texas around 10 AM local time Sunday. He was booked on one charge of DWI and one charge of unlawful carrying of a weapon. This is Peterson’s second DWI arrest this year after he was popped in Minnesota back in April shortly after the Vikings draft day party when a police officer claimed they saw him going 83 in a 55 MPH zone at just after 3 AM.”
Peterson is from Palestine, Texas, which is about 3 hours north of Sugar Land.
Former NFL MVP’s History of Off-Field Issues
Peterson, a 7-time NFL All-Pro and 7-time Pro Bowler, led the NFL in rushing 3 times and was selected to the NFL’s All-Decade Team for the 2010s.
He also holds the NFL single-game rushing record with 296 yards in a 2007 game against the San Diego Chargers.
Peterson played 15 seasons in the NFL from 2007 to 2021 and finished his career with approximately $103.2 million in career earnings.
In September 2024, According to ESPN, a judge in Houston ordered Peterson, a Texas native, to forfeit assets at his Missouri City, Texas, home over an estimated $12 million debt. The judge assigned a court-appointed receiver and constables to go to the home to ensure a peaceful transfer of assets.
In 2014, Peterson was indicted in Montgomery County, Texas, on charges of reckless or negligent injury to a child. He was accused of beating his 4-year-old son with a tree branch and causing “slash-like injuries” to the boy’s body.
Peterson was eventually suspended for all but 1 game of the 2014 season after he pled no contest to a misdemeanor charger of reckless assault to avoid jail time.
In 2018, Peterson was ordered to pay a Minnesota bank back after defaulting on a $600,000 loan. In 2019, he was ordered to pay a creditor in Minnesota $2.4 million.
Bizarre Fight Over Poker Game in Texas
TMZ posted a video of Peterson on June 19 that showed him engaged in an alcohol-fueled fistfight at a Houston poker hall.
In the fight, Peterson and another man trade blows, with Peterson getting the worst of it at the beginning before he falls and appears to hit his head on a chair. Peterson recovers from the fall, gets up and lands several punches before the fight is broken up.
Shortly after the fight, Peterson announced he would fight the man from the poker brawl, Joe “Baby Joe” Castaneda, in a celebrity boxing match.
No official date for the sort-of rematch has been announced.
