Lightning’s 35+ Goal Scorers Highlight NHL’s Most Dangerous Offense
The Tampa Bay Lightning enter the 2025-26 season with an offense that’s still built on firepower. According to NHL Edge, no team’s forwards generated more high-danger shots on goal last season (660) or converted them into more high-danger goals (144) than the Lightning did.
A large part of that success was driven by Brayden Point and Jake Guentzel, who finished first and second in NHL in high-danger goals with 28 and 26. Brandon Hagel (18; 94th percentile), Nikita Kucherov (17; 93rd percentile) and Anthony Cirelli (16; 91st percentile) were also standouts in the category.
In his first season with the Lightning, Guentzel had 41 goals and 39 assists for 80 points in 80 games played. He was recently invited to the U.S. Olympic Orientation Camp and is expected to make the 2026 U.S. Olympic Team.
Point had 42 goals and 40 assists in 77 games. He finished the season with a +17 rating, the third-best of his career and is already a lock in for the 2026 Canadian Olympic Team.
The Lightning had four players who scored 35+ goals last season, which included the duo of Point and Guentzel. Kucherov added 37 goals to the Lightning’s total, while Hagel finished the season with 35.
No other team had more than two players reach the 35-goal mark, and only eight players league-wide managed to score 40 or more goals.
Lightning Prospect Jack Finley Invited To 2025 NHLPA Rookie Showcase
Tampa Bay Lightning prospect Jack Finley will attend the 2025 NHLPA Rookie Showcase.
The 22-year-old made his NHL debut last season against the Boston Bruins on Jan. 14, finishing as a plus-1 and with one shot on goal. In his third season with the Syracuse Crunch in the AHL, Finley scored 14 goals and 28 points in 40 games.
The 6-foot-6 forward is waiting for a long-term call-up to the NHL and is likely the closest to being NHL-ready in the Lightning's prospect pool. The 2020 second-round pick will attend the showcase, which is set to be held at the MedStar Capitals Iceplex in Arlington, Virginia, on Sept. 3.
Hosted by Upper Deck - the official trading card of the NHL - the event will be an opportunity for Finley and 30 other prospects from the 31 other NHL clubs to skate together and pose for photos for their first official Upper Deck hockey cards.
