Kim Richards' daughter Brooke's home raided in December by federal agents investigating her father-in-law Andrew Wiederhorn for fraud, money laundering and tax evasion
The home of Brooke Brinson, the daughter of Kim Richards, was raided in December by federal agents investigating her father-in-law for alleged financial crimes, according to The Los Angeles Times.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum's, 57, eldest daughter, 35, is married to Thayer Wiederhorn, 33, son of Andrew Wiederhorn, 56 - chief executive of the company that owns Fatburger and Johnny Rockets restaurant chains.
Brooke and Thayer's Beverly Grove home was searched in December 2021, with agents taking away phones, digital storage devices, tax documents and other records according to search warrant records filed in court, according to The Times.
Brooke - who is the cousin of socialites Paris and Nicky Hilton, and nice of RHOBH stars Kathy Hilton and Kyle Richards - was not named in the court documents.
The elder Wiederhorn is being investigated for securities and wire fraud, money laundering and attempted tax evasion, according to LA Magazine.
The site has also reported the feds are looking to see if Andrew's son Thayer may have been involved.
In an affidavit related to the investigation, an FBI agent alleged that Wiederhorn had 'devised and executed a fraudulent scheme' to avoid paying taxes and received 'millions of dollars in sham loans' through his companies, according to the LA Times.
The court documents also list credit card purchases by Andrew and his family, including a '$183,500 charge at a London jeweler, $150,000 spent on a down payment for a Rolls-Royce, and $100,000 to a Beverly Hills divorce attorney.'
The agent stated that there was 'probable cause' that Wiederhorn 'engaged in the following criminal conduct,' including tax offenses, misrepresentations to investors, and fraud offenses.
As of right now no charges have been filed against Wiederhorn or FAT Brands, of which he is the largest shareholder.
Meanwhile his attorney, Douglas Fuchs of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, released a statement on Friday saying, 'Mr. Wiederhorn categorically denies these allegations and at the appropriate time we will demonstrate that the government has its facts wrong.'
In 2004 Wiederhorn pleaded guilty in another financial crimes case and spent 15 months in federal prison in Sheridan, Oregon.
Brooke and Thayer got married in 2014 and their wedding was recorded on the RHOBH.
The couple share two kids, Hucksley Andrew, five, and Hunter Montgomery, two.

The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) recap for Wednesday, October 1, reveals that Beth Spencer’s (Jordyn Gracie) question stunned Ivy Forrester (Ashleigh Brewer) while Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) insisted he wanted to marry Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) today.
In the Forrester showroom, Hope admitted Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) had issues with Carter and was rooting for her to get back together with Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton).
Hope sought Brooke Logan Forrester’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) opinion, so Brooke acknowledged that Carter let Hope down during all the takeover drama.
Brooke also knew Hope had a lot of memories with Liam and wondered if he was worth fighting for.
Hope flashed back to her pregnancy with Beth and the pain of thinking they lost her, but she remembered the joy of Liam revealing Beth was alive as well.
Since Thomas was tied to all that difficult Beth drama, Hope suggested maybe that was why she couldn’t commit to him.
Now Hope was obviously struggling with Carter marriage doubts too, but Brooke pushed Hope to follow her heart – no matter where that led her.
In the CEO office, Carter made a compelling pitch for Hope for the Future to be reinstated, but he was still surprised when Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) approved the idea.
Ridge insisted Carter was right and agreed to bring back Hope’s line, so Carter couldn’t wait to tell his fiancée.
After Daphne Rose (Murielle Hilaire) popped up, she questioned whether a wedding date had been set yet.
Carter insisted he’d marry Hope soon, but Daphne clearly still had concerns about Hope drifting back toward her family with Liam.
Once Hope met up with Carter later, she assumed he wanted to discuss wedding plans.
Instead, Carter suggested this was about business and eventually offered updates on Ridge approving Hope for the Future’s return.
Carter gave himself a pat on the back for making this happen and guessed he finally wore Ridge down.
Hope was thrilled over her line’s comeback, but she became unsettled when Carter expressed wedding excitement and pushed her to marry him today.
Carter was oblivious to Hope’s discomfort as he pulled her into a warm embrace on Wednesday’s B&B episode.
Ridge also joined Brooke in the showroom and filled her in on Hope’s line being reinstated.
At Brooke’s place, Liam was relieved when Ivy arrived and interrupted Beth’s attempt to push him back together with Hope.
Ivy gave Beth some jewelry for the daddy-daughter dance, so Beth was grateful.
Beth also caught Ivy off guard by asking if she thought Liam wanted to marry Hope, so that brought some awkwardness.
Liam swooped in and pointed out that Hope was marrying Carter, but Beth asked what if Hope wanted to marry Liam instead.
While Beth was upstairs seeing if her new jewelry matched her dress, Liam apologized for Beth putting Ivy on the spot.
Ivy could see how much Beth wanted her parents back together and suggested that Hope would be crazy not to reunite her family.
Once Liam was alone, he gazed at a framed family photo before declaring it could still happen for them.
