Kansas City Chiefs Pressed to Add Alvin Kamara in Bold Trade Move
It seems like every year, since the Kansas City Chiefs have last had an explosive offense, fans have dreamt about this franchise adding a big name to that side of the ball. But, Brett Veach has remained steadfast in his approach.
Is this the year the Chiefs finally make a bold move, though? One expert believes the Chiefs should be reaching out to the New Orleans Saints and make a trade for star running back Alvin Kamara.
The Draft Network's Justin Melo recently wrote about a couple of teams that make sense for Kamara, who is sure to draw trade interest prior to the November 10 deadline. Among those teams were the Chiefs.
The Chiefs should make a play to acquire Alvin Kamara before the trade deadline
"Reid hasn't gotten his rushing attack going yet. The Chiefs rank 22nd, averaging 105.3 yards per game. Mahomes is their leading rusher, usually a telltale sign that you have an efficiency problem," wrote Melo.
He isn't wrong. If Patrick Mahomes is this team's leading rusher, there is a problem. Fans know it. Andy Reid has got to know it. In no world does it make sense that the 2025 Kansas City Chiefs see Mahomes end the year as this team's leading rusher. It won't happen. Something has to change.
"Isiah Pacheco is averaging a pedestrian 4.0 yards per carry and hasn't rushed for a touchdown yet. The aging Kareem Hunt is averaging 3.2 yards per carry," Melo went on.
For as good of a story as Isiah Pacheco has been, the former seventh rounder has not been efficient this year. He hasn't looked like the same guy. And as for Kareem Hunt, there are times where he looks like the better back. Somehow, though, he's been even less efficient than Pacheco.
This offense might not need a complete re-working of the running back position, but adding a veteran like Kamara is a great way to beef things up. New Orleans isn't going anywhere this year and Kamara is bound to be a hot trade commodity in the coming weeks.
We're talking about a player who has never finished with less than 1,200 yards from scrimmage in a season. Kamara has been the ultimate dual-threat back for several years now.
Speaking of those years, Kamara is 30 years old, so this would be a rental. His contract goes through 2026 and might need some fine-tuning as the cap hit surges past $18 million next year. But, that's a problem to worry about later.
Right now, as the Chiefs are on a 2-game win streak and look to be getting back on track, Kamara's presence would only take this offense to higher places.

Ben Roethlisberger Jokes That Steelers’ Game Against Browns Is Their ‘Second Bye Week’
As the Pittsburgh Steelers head into their Week 5 matchup against the Cleveland Browns, the mood surrounding the team couldn’t be more confident. With a 3-1 record, the Steelers are sitting comfortably at the top of the AFC North, while the Browns, with a struggling 1-3 start, are reeling from inconsistent play.
In a lighthearted comment, former Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger joked that this upcoming game could be Pittsburgh’s “second bye week” after their 26-21 win against the Minnesota Vikings in Ireland. Roethlisberger, who spent his entire career dominating the Browns, expressed confidence that the Steelers would easily handle Cleveland, despite the Browns’ strong defense.
“I said it’s our second bye in a row,” Roethlisberger quipped on his podcast, Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger. “I don’t foresee a big issue with the Browns. They’ve had their struggles, and we know how to exploit those weaknesses.”
While Roethlisberger’s comments were filled with humor, there’s no denying the respect he has for the Browns’ defense, particularly pass rusher Myles Garrett, who has been a menace to opposing quarterbacks. With Garrett leading the way, the Browns have one of the most formidable defensive units in the league. However, Roethlisberger believes the Steelers’ offense is well-equipped to handle the challenge.
“We have a game plan for everything,” Roethlisberger said. “We’re prepared, and we know exactly what we need to do to get a win. We’ve faced tough defenses before, and we know how to break them down.”
Although Roethlisberger expressed confidence in his former team’s chances, he also warned against complacency. The Steelers cannot afford to underestimate a Browns team that, despite its record, still boasts a talented roster, particularly on the defensive side of the ball.
