While Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen called their loss to the New England Patriots last week a “wake-up call,” it’s unclear what message they received.
Buffalo took an ugly 24-14 loss to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 6. During the Monday Night Football matchup, Allen completed 15-of-26 passes for 180 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions, along with six carries for 42 yards.
The Bills’ defense allowed Falcons running back Bijan Robinson and wide receiver Drake London to rack up 299 combined yards in the first half alone. Despite losing multiple starters to injury, the defense got its act together in the second half. A blocked field-goal attempt kept it a one-score game in the fourth quarter.
The offense had several opportunities to tie it up but failed to capitalize on them. Allen and Co.’s 14 points is their lowest scoring total since 2023.

Speaking to reporters after the game, “It takes everyone. Little details matter,” Allen said. “It wasn’t good enough tonight… We had our opportunities to take advantage of, and we didn’t. I gotta be better. Seeing the things they’re trying to do to us and adjust accordingly.
“It sucks when you feel like two-thirds of your team (special teams and defense) are doing their job and you’re the team not to pull your weight. It sucks… It’s gonna eat at me the next two weeks. So yeah, a lot of stuff to clean up.”
Josh Allen Was ‘Frustrated,’ But Went Straight To Work to Figure Out A Solution

After the game, Allen huddled with offensive coordinator Joe Brady and his backup quarterbacks, Mitchell Trubisky and Shane Buechele, for a pow-wow. The Athletic’s Joe Buscaglia reported, “Once quarterback Josh Allen had grown tired of looking at his phone, he took a deep sigh and sat in the chair at his locker room stall.”
Buechele sat to his right while Trubisky took a seat to his left before Brady sat directly across from the league MVP. “It was a diamond formation, attempting to decode why the Bills were unable to move the ball consistently for a second consecutive game,” Buscaglia wrote.
“This wasn’t the despondent Allen that we’ve seen in the past after losses. He was frustrated, but eager to figure things out with his inner circle. And when you begin to analyze where it all went wrong, it’s hard to look anywhere else but the production, or lack thereof, from the boundary receivers.”
Allen played without tight end Dalton Kincaid out and wide receiver Curtis Samuel against the Falcons, while Josh Palmer exited early in the second quarter with an ankle injury. However, Allen’s lack of a true No. 1 wide receiver was a glaring issue on Monday night.
“Over the last five games, the Bills’ boundary receivers — meaning everyone not named slot receiver Khalil Shakir — have averaged 89 yards per game, collectively,” Buscaglia noted.
Bills QB Josh Allen Said He’s Fully Healthy After Appearing to Injure His Hand
Another video of Josh Allen hitting & shaking out that left hand.
Better his left than his right.
With 12:43 left in the second quarter, the 29-year-old quarterback appeared to suffer an injury to his non-throwing hand after getting taken down by three defenders. Allen shook out his hand on the way to the sidelines.
After the game, he denied any lingering issues. When asked if he hurt his hand, “No,” he said. When asked if he was playing completely healthy right now, “Yeah,” he answered.
Any injury to Allen would be devastating for the Bills. Luckily, he has an extra week off before preparing to face the Carolina Panthers in Week 8.
Raiders Reunite With Former Promising UDFA, Cut Ties With Recent Signee

The Las Vegas Raiders are coming off a key win over the Tennessee Titans, but they can’t get complacent right now with a big matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs on deck. Though the team won, the offensive line struggled against the Titans.
Things won’t get any easier against the Chiefs. The Raiders aren’t going to find a quick fix on the offensive line, but they may have found a player who can eventually help. The team announced on Tuesday that they’ve signed offensive guard McClendon Curtis to the practice squad.
#RAIDERS ROSTER MOVES:
– Signed G McClendon Curtis to the practice squad
– Released P Brad Robbins from the practice squad
Curtis first came into the NFL as an undrafted free agent signing with the Raiders in 2023. He was considered one of the top undrafted free agent signings that year, but he narrowly missed making the roster after training camp. The team brought him back on the practice squad, but the Seattle Seahawks poached him.
He hasn’t been able to find a long-term home, but he’s still a young player with upside. Head coach Pete Carroll also knows Curtis, as he was the head coach of the Seahawks when they poached him from the Raiders in 2023.
The team’s offensive line interior could use some work, so perhaps Curtis could eventually make his way to the active roster. To make room for the offensive guard, the Raiders cut punter Brad Robbins, who was just recently signed amid concerns about AJ Cole’s health. This is a good sign that the All-Pro should be healthy going forward.
Carroll Addresses Offensive Line
The Raiders‘ offensive line is likely going to continue to struggle this season. Left tackle Kolton Miller could miss the rest of the year, and there hasn’t been a consistent player to emerge yet.
Carroll had a chance to discuss the group’s performance against the Titans.
“Stone’s [Forsythe] got a challenge,” Carroll told reporters on Monday. “He’s been a backup for a while. He started a handful of games, a dozen games or something like that, whatever it is. And so, he’s got to just keep going and keep battling. We got to keep helping him properly, and he really gives you everything he’s got preparation-wise, smarts-wise, technique-wise. He’s stepping and kicking the way you’re supposed to, and he’s got to survive.”
“It’s hard. And look, there was a portion in the game where the pass rush, really, all of a sudden, was a big deal, and then we put it to rest. In the second half, it wasn’t a factor much, but there was a spurt in there where they were really hot and we were struggling a little bit, and we didn’t give up a sack in the second half.”
Carroll Praises Jordan Meredith
One player who is still working out some kinks is center Jordan Meredith. This is his first season playing the position, but Carroll likes what he’s seen so far.
“He was really solid,” Caroll said. “He’s been solid throughout. There’s times he gets in situations with enormous guys, and sometimes he’s battling up against it. But most of that is we have to be right, to be really, really precise about the way we help each other and in our footwork and all that so we don’t create the little voids in there that can give guys penetration opportunities. But he’s doing really well. He’s a really solid player for us.”
