Josh Allen Takes Little Shot at Bears After Sunday’s Bills Loss

Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills are dealing with a rash of injuries.
The Buffalo Bills headed to the Windy City last week to have some fun with the Chicago Bears. On Friday, the Bills had a joint practice with the Bears, then played them in a preseason game on Sunday night.
Since the Bills and Bears practiced together, most of the first-string players for Buffalo didn’t suit up for the game. Many teams follow the exact blueprint of having joint practices with a team before a preseason game. Coaches and players get more out of the joint practices since they can control what is going on, unlike a game.
Bears Beat Bills In Preseason Game No. 2
However, the Bears did throw out starting quarterback Caleb Williams for the preseason game, unlike Bills quarterback Josh Allen, who already knows the league. The second-year quarterback looked good, going 6/10 for 107 yards and one touchdown in limited action.
Even though it was only a preseason game, the Bears looked great while the Bills had issues. Buffalo never put the ball in the endzone, losing 38-0. There are only a few takeaways that can be made from a preseason game, but the Bills might have a depth issue.
Buffalo’s secondary struggled in the contest, and it’s not deep to begin with. If the Bills have some injuries back in the secondary, that could be a significant blow to the team.
The good thing is Buffalo is getting to see how the team could be this season in games that don’t matter and have a little under three weeks before their first regular-season game.
Josh Allen Takes Little Shot At Bears
On Tuesday, the Bills returned to Buffalo, and Allen, who didn’t play in the preseason game, had some words for the Bears. The 29-year-old quarterback stated his key takeaways from the game were. “I think we don’t want to see the Bears again in the preseason,” via Alaina Getzenberg from ESPN.
There are a few takeaways from Allen’s quote. First, Allen could be taking a shot at the Bears, saying he doesn’t want to see them in the preseason again, as they are only good because it’s not the regular season.
It’s no secret that Chicago has been one of the worst teams in the NFL for the last five years. It wouldn’t be a surprise if Allen did take a shot at them.
Another takeaway could be that Allen is high on the Bears and doesn’t want to see them in the preseason again because of how well they played. Even though the Bills hardly played their starters, Chicago did look like it could compete with the best teams this season.
Allen hasn’t played in the team’s first two preseason games this year. Buffalo lost both times, but there’s a chance he plays this week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
