Jets HC Aaron Glenn Sends Clear Message to Breece Hall After Fumble in Ravens Loss
New York Jets running back Breece Hall has emphasized ball security this season, only fumbling the ball once this year, but unfortunately for him his second one was costly.
The Jets, with Tyrod Taylor at quarterback, didn’t get ran off the field by the superior Baltimore Ravens on Sunday and began mounting a comeback when Hall was stripped of the ball by cornerback Marlon Humphrey at the goal line late in the fourth quarter.
The Ravens (6-5) would go on the defeat the Jets (2-9) in the Week 12 matchup by a score of 23-10.

Aaron Glenn Had Breece Hall’s Back Postgame
Jets head coach Aaron Glenn, whose job security is being questioned in his first year in New York, wanted to remind Hall postgame that the back will still be counted on the rest of the season.
“I love that player, he’s a damn good player for us and he’s gonna fight for every yard. And we all know once you are fighting for every yard we have to be able protect the ball,” Glenn said. “Their guys did a really good job of going after it and getting it. That was one of those times where they made a good play.
Glenn said he consoled Hall postgame, who was upset that he turned the ball over.

“He’s my guy. Shit happens,” Glenn said. “You don’t want it to happen but it did. The one thing I didn’t want him to do was hold his head down. I don’t want that player to ever get down on himself. He’s a hell of a player for us.”
Hall finished the day with 44 rushing yards on 16 carries and 75 receiving yards on four catches.
Jets Continue to Make Costly Mistakes
The Jets went into halftime with a 7–3 lead — their first advantage at the break since the season opener against Pittsburgh. But Baltimore quickly shifted momentum. What looked like a three-and-out to open the third quarter turned into a 34-yard gain when Isaiah Oliver was flagged for pass interference on third-and-15. That penalty set up Derrick Henry’s 2-yard touchdown run, giving the Ravens a lead they would never relinquish.
Glenn chose to go for it on fourth-and-2 from New York’s 42-yard line, but Taylor — starting in place of the benched Justin Fields — threw incomplete. Despite continued red-zone struggles, Baltimore eventually cleared enough space for Henry to score again, this time on fourth-and-goal from the 2, pushing the margin to 17–7.
After the teams traded field goals, Hall’s 40-yard catch-and-run put the Jets back in scoring position. But shortly after another elusive run, Hall fumbled, and the Ravens recovered at their own 3-yard line.
With the defeat, the Jets secured their 10th consecutive losing season. They host the Atlanta Falcons (3-7) next week.
The Commanders probably regret one offseason move at an uncertain position after his recent performance

The Washington Commanders are on a bye week for Week 12, so that means stress-free football before the team comes back for the final stretch of the season.

Head coach Dan Quinn wasted no time kicking off the bye week with some big news by releasing veteran kicker Matt Gay. The Commanders would respond by signing former third-round pick Jake Moody to see if he's the answer for the rest of the year, and hopefully next.
The kicker position has haunted the Commanders for two seasons now, and they probably should've stuck with Zane Gonzalez, who just had a big game with the Atlanta Falcons.
Zane Gonzalez was lights out in his Falcons debut
I know we can say this about a lot of other players the Commanders let go, but releasing Gonzales didn't make too much sense, especially when Adam Peters' next move was a costly one. The Commanders gave Gay the biggest one-year fully guaranteed contract for a kicker ever, and he was a disaster. Fast forward to now, the Commanders are still trying to figure the position out, and Gonzales had a heck of a game for the Falcons.
The Falcons signed Gonzalez on Nov. 4th, and he hasn't missed a kick for them yet. He's now 6-6 through three games, including 56 and 54-yard makes against the New Orleans Saints. Gay went 4-9 on field goal attempts from 50 yards and beyond, and Gonzales is already 3-3 from the same distance.
Zane Gonzalez is the second Falcons kicker to make two field goals of 54+ yards in a single game. He joins Morten Andersen as the only other Falcon to do so.

The Commanders could've brought Gonzalez back for much cheaper than Gay, and who knows what the results would've been, but it couldn't have been worse than what we saw this season. Now the next chapter starts, and they can only pray they got it right.
The Commanders need Jake Moody to be the answer
Releasing Gay was absolutely the right call, with the bye week giving them time , but now is the stressful part, trying a new kicker. Moody was a third-round pick with the 49ers when Peters was still there. He's a young option with a lot of upside, and he showed a lot of promise in his short stint with the Chicago Bears this season, including the game-winner against the Commanders.

The Commanders have six more games left this season to let Moody audition to be the starter next season, which is the best-case scenario. If Moody doesn't work out, then they likely release him at the end of the season and try again in the always revolving pool of kickers around the league.
