Jenna Johnson & Val Chmerkovskiy Hope They’re Season 34 DWTS Pros
During Variety’s Power of Young Hollywood event held on August 7, People asked Johnson and Chmerkovskiy if they could confirm or deny a return to “Dancing With the Stars” season 34.
Johnson shared, “I wish. I think you and I know the same amount. I’m hoping. I would love to be on the season if they would have me again.”
She continued, “I think after last season, the whole world was inspired by ‘Dancing With the Stars,’ so I just can’t wait to see how it gets bigger and better. It’s going to be epic. And the four celebrities that they’ve already announced, I think are going to be serious contenders.”
Chmerkovskiy agreed with his wife. “Everything she said. Super excited for the show … hopefully I’m back on,” he said. “If I am, I’m going to have a blast.”

The couple also spoke with E! News at the event, sharing their predictions for the “DWTS” season 34 winner.
Johnson noted that Robert Irwin brings a lot of energy to the competition that will win over “DWTS” fans. “There’s something about positivity and energy, and his is contagious,” she said.
The dance pro added, “It just is. And they’re such a great family. So I’m just excited to watch his journey. He is going to be an incredible personality on our show.”
Johnson also shared how Irwin was at the show during season 21 to cheer on his sister Bindi, who went on to win the Mirrorball Trophy with partner Derek Hough.
“We’ve been such big fans of Robert Irwin since he was little, coming on set to watch Bindi perform,” Johnson said.
“It will be really interesting to see how the audience interacts and responds to them,” she said of the contestants.
Chmerkovskiy also weighed in with his thoughts about who could pull ahead in the competition. “I think it’s obvious when there’s a frontrunner pre-season, but there’s still so many elements,” he explained.
“I hate to mention it — injury, but also just the chemistry, the vibe, the growth, the partnership. There’s so many things, so many variables that have to blossom,” he explained.
