Grant Delpit hilariously trolls London fans when asked what Cleveland is like
While the Cleveland Browns prepare for an international game against the Minnesota Vikings, safety Grant Delpit is doing his best to try and gain some fans in the city of London.
Delpit had a press conference Thursday, where he was asked why a fan who is unfamiliar with American football should choose the Browns.
“A lot of new fans will see you this weekend. Some of them have never seen American football. Maybe some of them haven’t picked a football team they want to support yet. Why should some pick the Browns?” a reporter asked Delpit.
Delpit answered describing Cleveland as being very similar to Miami.
“Cleveland is a great place. It’s a lot like Miami, if you’ve ever heard of Miami,” Delpit said. “Maybe y’all can come visit, and we’ll welcome you with open arms.”
Delpit also described the Browns as a fun team to follow, and with constant drama at quarterback and the Browns constantly trying to turn things around, he isn’t wrong.
“We are a fun team to follow. We’ll hopefully make some friends,” Delpit said. “I know you guys don’t know a lot about the Cleveland Browns, but we are going to do what we can do.”
Delpit also answered more serious questions during the interview, including talking about how the Browns trust rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel this week because of the high standard that has been set by the other rookies this season. He also talked about how the defense has handled dealing with the offensive struggles this season.
Delpit has been limited at practice so far this week for the Browns. He has been dealing with a back injury he sustained in the 34-10 loss to the Detroit Lions.
Delpit has been a vocal leader for the Browns this season, challenging guys like Derrick Henry earlier this season, and helping to lead the Browns defense to a terrific season.
Currently Delpit has 23 total tackles this season, and a crucial interception in the Browns only win this season against the Green Bay Packers that set Cleveland up for a touchdown.
The Vikings have already announced they will be without starting quarterback JJ McCarthy for the game and will be starting Carson Wentz. Hopefully, Delpit and the rest of the Browns defense will be able to force Wentz into a rough day.
While Cleveland may not be exactly like Miami, hopefully a Cleveland win in London will bring the organization some new fans.
Commanders Trade Proposal Lands Pro Bowl Cornerback
The Washington Commanders made a splashy move at least season’s trade deadline to bring in what they thought was an elite cornerback by trading with the New Orleans Saints for Marshon Lattimore.
Since then, Lattimore has been one of the NFL’s worst at his position and a different player from the 4-time Pro Bowler he was with the Saints.
While that might seem like a reason to not repeat those same mistakes, if the Commanders once again find themselves in contention this year as the trade deadline approaches, there’s a good chance they might just run it back on another cornerback trade.
Bleacher Report’s Alex Kay thinks the Commanders might be able to stay contenders with a trade for Seattle Seahawks cornerback Riq Woolen in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round draft pick and 2027 seventh-round draft pick — although the Commanders might be smart to just offer the 2026 sixth by itself to see how the Seahawks react.
One way the Commanders could bolster their flailing coverage abilities is by bringing in Riq Woolen,” Kay wrote. ” … Woolen is on the trade radar due to his reduced role with the Seattle Seahawks coupled with his contract-year status. While the 2022 Pro Bowler may not be thriving in 2025, he’s still only giving up a respectable 61.1 percent completion rate in coverage and should have plenty of tread left on his tires at the age of 26. If Seattle is willing to move on from Woolen, the Commanders should capitalize and bolster one of the weakest areas of their roster. It could be the difference between a deep playoff run and missing out entirely.”
Woolen Earned Pro Bowl Honors as Rookie
Woolen is one of the biggest cornerbacks in the NFL at 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds, and ended up a fifth round pick (No. 153 overall) by the Seahawks out of UTSA in the 2022 NFL draft.
While we can’t discredit his time playing for the mighty Roadrunners, Woolen secured his draft stock when he ran the 40-yard dash in a stunning 4.26 seconds at the NFL scouting combine — the third best time in combine history and the fastest for a player over 6-foot — then topped that off with a 42-inch vertical leap.
While Woolen was projected as a second or third round pick he dropped to the Seahawks in the fifth round and was a revelation as a rookie, making the Pro Bowl and leading the NFL with 6 interceptions while starting all 17 regular season games.
Woolen’s success as a rookie didn’t stop the Seahawks from using one of their 2 first round picks in 2023 on a cornerback when they took Illinois star Devon Witherspoon at No. 5 overall — a player who has been named to the Pro Bowl in each of his first 2 seasons.
Woolen, meanwhile, is the final season of a 4-year, $3.99 million contract.
“With Seahawks star CB Devon Witherspoon returning on Thursday, teams are monitoring Pro Bowl CB Riq Woolen as a possible trade target by the deadline, sources tell The Insiders,” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport wrote on his official X account on September 28. “Woolen’s playing time has diminished, and in a contract year, teams believe he could be available.”
Lattimore Trade Blows Up On Commanders
The Commanders hoped Lattimore might still have at least a few seasons left as one of the NFL’s elite cornerbacks. He didn’t even have another game.
Lattimore only played 2 regular season games in 2024 for the Commanders as he dealt with a hamstring injury and was solid in a postseason run to the NFC Championship Game.
Through 4 games in 2025, he’s been terrible. According to Pro Football Focus, Lattimore’s 44.4 overall grade so far ranks him 144th out of 164 eligible cornerbacks.
