During the premiere, Owens opened up about a tough chapter in his life: losing his father in 2020, and separating from his wife, Fabiana Pimentel, after nearly 18 years of marriage. But could she be watching him on his quest for love? Owens joked that she might be “peeking.”
Mel Owens Believes His Ex-Wife Will Be “Peeking” at ‘The Golden Bachelor’

The premiere of “The Golden Bachelor” kicked off on Sept. 24 with 66 year old former NFL player-turned-sports lawyer Mel Owens making his leading debut. During the opening of the show, Owens briefly shared personal tidbits about his life, including the separation from his former wife, Fabiana Pimentel, in 2020.
In a recent interview with Us Weekly, Owens was asked if he believed Pimentel may be secretly watching him on the show.
“I don’t know, but my boys told me, like, ‘Oh, she’s not gonna be watching.’ But everybody’s peeking,” he admitted. “I’d be watching [if I was her]! Everybody’s peeking.”
According to Us Weekly, Owens and Pimentel wed in May 2002 and welcomed two sons, Lucas, born in 2005, and Andre, born in 2007. They filed for divorce in 2020, citing irreconcilable differences, and agreed on joint custody. Their divorce was not finalized until 2024.
Whether or not Pimentel is tuning in, Owens’ two sons, who are now adults, will definitely be. In fact, viewers are expecting them to make an appearance on their dad’s season, given that they were a part of the show’s premiere.
Owens Revealed His Ex-Wife Left Him for Someone Else
Owens revealed that Pimentel had left him for someone else during the premiere of “The Golden Bachelor” season 2. In his conversation with Us Weekly, Owens shared that while it “hurt” him to see his wife falling in love with another man, he couldn’t “get in the way of [her] happiness.”
“Well, it’s never good right? But, you know, I’m never going to get in the way of someone’s happiness. If you want to find somebody else in a different phase of your life — it hurts — but I can’t get in the way of your happiness,” he shared.
Owens added, “And what’s your happiness may not be my happiness. That’ll be real conflict — you can’t stop somebody and say, ‘I’m over here now.’ You can’t beg and plead, but I’m fine. Life is short; if you’re in love with somebody else, that’s fine.”
Like in the premiere, Owens told the outlet that after he separated from Pimentel, he put all his focus and attention on his two sons.
Skip Bayless Calls Out Browns, Continues to Back Shedeur Sanders with Bold Remarks

In a shocking new statement, renowned sports commentator Skip Bayless has once again aimed his criticisms at the Cleveland Browns, accusing the franchise of making crucial mistakes that are jeopardizing their future. Bayless, never one to shy away from bold opinions, didn’t hold back in his assessment of the Browns’ recent performance and management.
“The Browns are sabotaging themselves. It’s been a pattern for years, and this team has no idea what they’re doing,” Bayless declared. “They’ve had opportunity after opportunity, yet they continue to mismanage their key players and their franchise direction. It’s a disaster in the making.”
Bayless, whose controversial remarks often ignite debate, believes that the Browns are failing to capitalize on their potential, and he warned that unless significant changes are made, the team could remain stuck in mediocrity.
Bayless’ Unwavering Support for Shedeur Sanders: ‘He’s the Future of Football’
While Bayless has made headlines for his harsh criticism of the Browns, he remains steadfast in his support for
“Everyone is doubting Shedeur Sanders, but they’re missing the bigger picture. He is going to be the future of this league,” Bayless continued passionately. “You’re talking about a player who has every tool to succeed. The confidence, the arm strength, the decision-making. This kid is different. He’s built for the NFL.”
Bayless’ continued support for Sanders stands in stark contrast to his critique of the Browns, as he emphasizes the importance of leadership and vision—qualities he believes Sanders already possesses in abundance.
Why Bayless Believes the Browns are Stuck in the Past
In a broader commentary on the state of the NFL, Bayless also took aim at the Browns' inability to build around their talents. With high-profile players like
“The Browns are still stuck in the past, trying to find a quick fix instead of developing a solid long-term plan. And that’s why they’re doomed,” Bayless explained. “They don’t have a cohesive vision. They’re just throwing money at problems and hoping something sticks.”
The Future of the Browns vs. Sanders’ Rise: A Clash of Destinies
With the Browns seemingly trapped in a cycle of underperformance, Bayless sees a clear contrast between the direction of Cleveland’s franchise and the rise of Sanders. “If the Browns don’t make significant changes, they’ll continue to be left behind by teams who actually know how to develop a quarterback like Sanders,” Bayless said.
As the debate continues, Bayless’ bold stance on both the Browns and Shedeur Sanders is sure to keep the NFL world buzzing. Will the Browns turn it around, or will they continue to be the NFL’s biggest disappointment? Only time will tell, but Bayless believes Sanders is set to prove the doubters wrong.
