George Pickens’ Explosive Week 12 Performance Against Eagles Overshadowed by Controversial Social Media Tirade – Cowboys Star Faces Backlash
In the recent history of the NFL, few players can compare to the self immolation Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens chooses to indulge in year in and yer out.

For every great or good thing Pickens does, you can count on him doing something equally as stupid to offset it.
Take, for example, the Cowboys’ thrilling, 24-21 win over the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles in Week 12. Pickens was brilliant. He looked like he might be the best wide receiver in the NFL with 9 receptions for 146 yards and 1 touchdown.
So, of course, in the wake of several days of glowing praise, Pickens had to light the match. This time, it came in the form of social media, where he called out Eagles fans in a since-deleted reply to a post from Eagles superfan Gillie Da Kid.
“Weakass Philly fans,” Pickens wrote. “(Expletive) known for sandwiches.”
For Pickens, who could very well ask teams for a $150 million contract this offseason, it’s not exactly the kind of PR you want right about now.
Eagles On Their Heels Against Pickens
Instead of going online to smack talk Eagles fans, Pickens should have spent the last few days basking in the light of his virtuoso performance against Philadelphia — a game in which the Cowboys tied their franchise record by rallying from a 21-0 deficit for the win.
Pickens was simply unstoppable against whoever the Eagles tried to put on him, or however man people they tried to put on him. After 11 games, Pickens is second in the NFL with 1,044 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns.
“George Pickens has blossomed into a superstar with the Cowboys,” Pro Football Focus wrote on its official X account.
Cowboys Traded for Pickens in Spring
The Cowboys sent a 2026 third round pick to the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for Pickens in May after a series of on-field and off-field incidents, including Pickens showing up late for a Christmas Day game against the Kansas City Chiefs in 2024.
That, along with almost a dozen fine for taunting, fines and even writing messages on his eye tape got him his walking papers out of the Steel City.
Pickens’ breakout game against the Eagles came just one week after he was benched for the first series of a Week 11 win over the Las Vegas Raiders for missing the team bus to the stadium.
“CRAZIEST STAT EVER,” ML Football wrote on its official X account. “Cowboys WR George Pickens has MORE RECEIVING YARDS than all the Pittsburgh Steelers wide receivers combined this season. Pickens individual receiving yards: 1,044 Pittsburgh WR corp total yards: 1,009 Pittsburgh traded Pickens for a 3rd rounder.”
“That man don’t got to fit in, he stands out,” Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb said to The Athletic’s Jon Machota. “GP is a hell of a player, man. And there’s plenty more excitement where that’s coming from.”
Eagles fans, as expected, were more than ready to take it just one step further.
“I’ve never had an ACL wish list but that might change today,” Eagles fan Miz wrote on X in a reply to Pickens’ comments.
Yankees' Jazz Chisholm Has Words For Red Sox Rivalry

The Boston Red Sox had one of their best weekends of the 2025 Major League Baseball over the last few days.

Boston dropped three straight games (one against the Miami Marlins and two against the Baltimore Orioles) entering the team's four-game series against the New York Yankees. Boston lost the No. 1 spot in the Wild Card standings heading into the Yankees series. But, Boston took three out of four games against New York and now has a 1/2-game lead over the Yankees for the top spot in the Wild Card standings.
It was a much-needed bounce-back series, but the Red Sox weren't able to complete the sweep on Sunday night. That was thanks in large part to the play of All-Star infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. The two-time All-Star went 2-for-4 against Boston and launched two homers while driving in four runs in the 7-2 win over Boston.
What's next for the Red Sox and Yankees?

After the game, Chisholm talked about the rivalry overall, as transcribed by ESPN's Jorge Castillo.
"I always want to play Boston," Chisholm said. "I feel like the energy in the game, the way our fans come out, the way their fans come out, I feel like it's a real intense game. Every game against Boston here has felt like a playoff game. So, for me, I know that's exactly what we're going to have, and we're going to need to get ready for the playoffs and I know a lot of guys in here feel that, too."
It's never great to lose, but Boston did win the series and that's good enough. Over the last few yers, the Red Sox haven't been at the same level as New York. So, seeing these two rivals competing for playoff spots and battling it out down the stretch is what it is all about. If things continue the way they have, maybe we'll end up seeing these two teams facing off beyond the regular season. Wouldn't that be something? Seeing these two back at it in the postseason. That would really bring the rivalry back.
