Eagles sign 3 to practice squad, including one new addition fans will remember
Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman certainly backed up his words when he said he wasn't done making moves as they continued to roll in with three signings. One was already known, but a new one caught Eagles fans' attention as someone they remembered from the past.
The Eagles have signed offensive tackle Luke Felix-Fualalo, defensive back Marcus Epps, and wide receiver Britain Covey to the practice squad. Epps was reported late Wednesday night, but it is now official that he is on the practice squad. Felix-Fualalo is part of the International Player Exemption, allowing the team to have 17 players on the practice squad.
— Zach Berman (@ZBerm) August 28, 2025The roster moves:
- Eagles signed WR Britain Covey to practice squad
- Eagles signed DB Marcus Epps to practice squad
- Eagles signed T Luke Felix-Fualalo to the practice squad with the International Player Exemption.
Covey is the name that is catching every fan's attention as he returns to the team after his short stint with the Los Angeles Rams. The undrafted free agent played three seasons with the Eagles, primarily at punt return in 2022 and 2023. Back in 2023, he led the NFL in punt return yards with 417.
Eagles finalize their roster and bring back two former Eagles
Epps and Covey give the Eagles experience on the practice squad with guys who have been to Super Bowls with the team. Epps started at safety for the Eagles and Covey was the punt returner in 2022.
Felix-Fualalo allows the team to carry an extra player on the practice squad while giving them the depth needed on the offensive line. This will allow the Eagles to develop Felix-Fualalo without rushing him onto the field. Jordan Mailata is a prime example of how this approach worked to the Eagles' advantage.
Whether the Eagles will call up Covey and Epps from the practice squad during the season will be something to monitor. Philly might have concerns with rookie Andrew Mukuba's availability for the start of the season, which could push them to move Epps to the active roster.
The Eagles' practice squad got stronger with two veterans and a promising offensive lineman now on the team.
