Cowboys Dealt More Bad News as CeeDee Lamb Remains Sidelined
The Dallas Cowboys are already thin at wide receiver heading into Week 5, and the situation could get even tougher.
Speedster KaVontae Turpin is in danger of missing Sunday’s matchup against the New York Jets after suffering a foot injury during last week’s 40-40 tie with the Green Bay Packers.
The availability of KaVontae Turpin is in question this week because of a foot injury coming off the Green Bay game, per sources,” ESPN’s Todd Archer reported. “He was not on the field during open portion of practice today.”
Turpin has carved out a role in the offense as both a receiver and runner, totaling 159 yards on 13 catches and another 23 yards on the ground. He’s also a two-time Pro Bowl returner who just delivered his best game of the season, racking up 175 yards on six kick returns against Green Bay — including a pivotal 45-yard burst that set up a late touchdown.
The Cowboys rewarded Turpin’s playmaking ability with a three-year, $18 million extension this offseason, but his potential absence would be another blow to an already depleted receiving corps.
Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb Returns to Practice Field
Cowboys star CeeDee Lamb was injured in Week 3 during a loss to the Chicago Bears. He sat out last week but the Cowboys have yet to put him on injured reserve. That would force Lamb to miss at least four games.
Lamb has been progressing well in his recovery and has shed his walking boot this week. He was on the practice field on Wednesday, getting in some work. The Cowboys have yet to make a ruling on Lamb’s availability this week, although it seems unlikely that he’ll be on the field.
Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer gave an update on both Lamb and guard Tyler Booker on Wednesday.
“They’re doing good. Progressing well. We’ll see how the week goes,” Schottenheimer said.
Cowboys Make WR Moves Ahead of Jets Matchup
With uncertainty around Lamb and Turpin, the Cowboys did make some wide receiver moves this week. The team signed veteran Parris Campbell to the practice squad and promoted Ryan Flournoy to the active roster.
Campbell was a second-round pick in 2019 of the Indianapolis Colts. Campbell was previously with the Cowboys during the preseason but was released after sustaining an injury.
Campbell collected 97 receptions, 983 yards, and five touchdowns over four years and 24 starts in Indianapolis. He later had one-season stops with both the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles. While he didn’t see the field during Philadelphia’s playoff run, Campbell earned a Super Bowl ring with the Cowboys‘ NFC East rival.
Lamb is an irreplaceable talent. However, George Pickens has been doing a solid job in his absence. Pickens had eight catches for 134 yards and two touchdowns in the 40-40 tie against the Packers.
“He’s got great upside and made big plays ever since he walked into the NFL. Certainly, he just did a great job. I think everybody was a little shell-shocked when we lost CeeDee [Lamb] last week. Those guys worked as a unit, and I think he was a little down to see his main guy get injured there,” Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones said. “As you could see [Sunday] night, he stepped up in a big way. The guy’s got some very unique ability in terms of tracking balls, catching balls and making big plays.”
The Cowboys are a 2.5-point road favorite against the 0-4 Jets, per ESPN BET.
BREAKING: Saquon Barkley Turns Down $18 Million Sponsorship Deal From Pennsylvania Agriculture Giant — "I Can't Support Companies Exploiting Farmers"

In a stunning move, Philadelphia Eagles star Saquon Barkley has made headlines across the NFL after turning down an $18 million sponsorship deal with one of Pennsylvania's largest agricultural corporations. Barkley's decision wasn’t motivated by money, but by his commitment to the state's farmers and the values that have shaped his life.
“I’ve spent so much of my life here in Pennsylvania, and I refuse to support companies that exploit our farmers,” said Barkley. “I’ve spoken with farmers struggling to make ends meet, and I can’t be associated with a company that doesn’t support them in return for all their hard work.”
The agricultural corporation, under fire for allegedly underpaying dairy workers throughout Pennsylvania, had hoped to capitalize on Barkley’s massive marketability. However, for Barkley, the money was never worth compromising his principles. His words quickly went viral as fans and advocacy groups alike praised his unwavering commitment to the state’s backbone—its farmers.
Saquon Barkley’s decision was met with admiration from fans and the broader sports community. “The true face of the Eagles,” many remarked on social media, calling out Barkley for making a stand that most athletes wouldn’t dare. He proved that integrity was worth more than an eight-figure endorsement.
Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni joined the chorus of support, stating, “Saquon isn’t just a leader on the field — his actions off the field show exactly what he stands for. He’s the type of player and person who makes this organization proud.”
As the controversy surrounding the agricultural corporation’s labor practices grows, advocacy groups for Pennsylvania farmers have hailed Barkley’s move as a victory for local communities. “When someone of Saquon Barkley’s stature takes a stand, it sends a message. This isn’t just about sports; it’s about fighting for fairness for the people who make this state thrive,” one union representative said.
Despite already being one of the NFL’s most marketable athletes, Barkley’s choice to pass on a lucrative sponsorship deal has only further solidified his place as a role model. The endorsement, had he accepted it, would have added a prestigious feather in his already impressive cap. Instead, Barkley showed the world that there are some things money can’t buy — and principles are at the top of the list.
Barkley’s decision resonates deeply with fans in Pennsylvania, a state renowned for its blue-collar pride. By standing with farmers, he has forged a deeper connection with the city of Philadelphia, reminding everyone that football in this town is about community, hard work, and loyalty.
As the 2025 NFL season nears, Saquon Barkley’s legacy continues to grow — not just as one of the league’s top players, but as a man who values people and character over endorsement deals. For Philadelphia Eagles fans, Barkley is more than just a superstar — he is the embodiment of everything their city stands for.
