Commanders' Deebo Samuel is the WR trade candidate no one is talking about
The Washington Commanders just traded for Deebo Samuel in the offseason.

Could they deal him away again before the NFL's Nov. 4 trade deadline? The finances make it a very real possibility.
ESPN's Bill Barnwell wrote this week that it could definitely happen:
"Samuel is due just $1.1 million after the season, and if the Commanders aren't going to re-sign him, getting something for the veteran wideout would make sense."
The Commanders' larger problem is deciding whether to actually be a seller.
They're 3-5 entering a Sunday Night Football game in Week 9 against the Seahawks. That's the last game they play before the trade deadline.
A loss to fall to 3-6 would likely be a devastating blow to Washington's playoff chances. It's a lot easier to feel like you're still in the mix if you're 4-5.
The Jayden Daniels injury troubles haven't helped matters. Neither have the continued absences for star wide receiver Terry McLaurin.
Deebo has had some injury trouble, too. It's all been unfortunate for the Commanders after an ahead-of-schedule 2024 season.
They went out and got Samuel as a move to push even further into the contention picture, but right now, nothing is coming together in the nation's capital.
That might just lead to a Deebo departure sooner than anyone would've imagined.
