Colts’ Michael Pittman Jr lands on injury report ahead of Week 5
The Indianapolis Colts listed wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. as a limited participant in Thursday’s practice with a hamstring injury as the team released its Week 5 injury report.
The update comes as the Colts prepare to host the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, Oct. 5, at 1 p.m. ET on FOX. Pittman, who has been a central piece of Indianapolis’ offense, appeared on the report after logging partial work during the week.
Through four games, Pittman has recorded 21 receptions for 234 yards and three touchdowns. He has averaged 11.1 yards per catch while helping lead the Colts to a 3-1 record. His production has provided quarterback Daniel Jones with a reliable target in the passing game, particularly in red-zone situations.
Colts monitor Michael Pittman Jr.’s hamstring as Raiders matchup looms in Week 5

Pittman contributed in the team’s Week 4 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams, finishing with five receptions for 41 yards and a touchdown. Despite his efforts, the Colts dropped the game 27-20, snapping their early-season momentum.
The Week 5 meeting against the Raiders presents an opportunity for Indianapolis to regroup. Las Vegas enters the contest with a 1-3 record and a three-game losing streak. The Raiders suffered a 25-24 loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 4 after having a potential game-winning field goal attempt blocked.
Indianapolis will monitor Pittman’s status closely as game day approaches. A hamstring issue could impact his availability and workload, with the Colts aiming to keep one of their top offensive playmakers on the field.
Pittman’s presence remains significant for an Indianapolis team seeking to avoid back-to-back defeats and maintain atop the AFC South standings.
Eagles Get Update on TE Dallas Goedert After Missing Practice With Knee Injury

In some positive injury news for the Philadelphia Eagles, starting TE Dallas Goedert was back at practice on Thursday after suffering a knee injury earlier in the week. Goedert did not participate in practice on Wednesday with said knee injury, but he was listed as a limited participant on Thursday, granting some hope that he’ll be able to suit up on Sunday. He could be seen walking with a coach during practice, gesturing to his knee.
Goedert missed the Eagles Week 2 game against the Chiefs with a knee injury, though he returned to the field for Weeks 3 and 4. His game status for Week 5 against the Broncos is still unknown — if he doesn’t practice on Friday, he’s unlikely to play. If he’s again limited in practice, it’s probably more of a 50/50 shot. The Broncos are a tough team, and the Eagles will hope Goedert is able to suit up and play.
On the season, Goedert has 12 catches for 113 yards and three touchdowns. The former second-round pick out of South Dakota State has made a name for himself in the NFL, having been Philadelphia’s starter for years. If he can’t go on Sunday, it would be up TEs Grant Calcaterra and Kylen Granson to fill the void his absence would create.
The Philadelphia Eagles’ Passing Attack is Out of Sync

Something isn’t right in Philadelphia. Despite their 4-0 record, the Eagles are averaging just 148 passing yards per game, good for 31st in the league. It’s a problem, and while the Eagles have continued to win games through creative playcalling, a powerful rushing attack, and an opportunistic defense, they’re just 30th in the NFL in total offense. That’s not sustainable if they want to repeat as Super Bowl champions, or even get the top seed in the NFC.
What’s odd is Eagles QB Jalen Hurts isn’t even playing that poorly — they just aren’t asking him to throw the football as much as in the past. He’s averaging 25.25 pass attempts per game, and is 25th league-wide in total pass attempts. His average depth of target is 7.1 yards, which is pretty low. They aren’t creating the explosive downfield passes this offense typically does.
Philadelphia WR A.J. Brown has expressed his frustration with his lack of targets and production. As long as the Eagles keep winning, no one will care too much. But if this offense continues to struggle, and the defense can’t bail them out, it’ll shine a spotlight on the passing game’s difficulties.
Are the Philadelphia Eagles Setting Themselves Up to Win the NFC’s No. 1 Seed?
Even through four weeks, the Eagles have positioned themselves nicely in the NFC playoff race. They have key wins over the Rams and Buccaneers already, both teams expected to win their respective divisions. Philadelphia also has a win over the Cowboys, giving them an early lead in the NFC East.
In the coming weeks, the Philadelphia Eagles will play the Vikings, Packers, and Lions. All of those teams provide great opportunities to secure potentially key tiebreakers in the NFC playoff race.
