Chase Young breakout game was hidden underneath a bad loss for Saints
The New Orleans Saints lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, only scoring three points to the Bucs' 23. Defensive end Chase Young managed to stand out despite the loss.

On the afternoon, Young gathered four tackles, one and a half sacks, and one forced fumble. He also had three quarterback pressures. Following the loss, he was asked if he stepped into what was needed for the defense. "Honestly I'm just going out there and playing my game," Young
His season debut was just a few weeks ago, and he's already managed to become one of the top guys at his position. When ignoring the minimum snap count, Young is having one of the highest-graded seasons out of any defensive end, per Pro Football Focus.
Saints DE Chase Young has been shining to start his 2025 season
Young would make his 2025 debut at home against the New England Patriots and has been playing exceptionally well since, averaging 3.6 pressures, one sack, and one tackle per game. One game after the other has been better, each week earning a higher grade of pro football focus than the last. This week, he earned a grade of 88.7, 2.6 points higher than the previous week's grade of 86.1, which was higher than his grade in his season debut, an 85.1.
The start to Chase Young's fifth year in the National Football League definitely started later than the defensive end would've liked. During the week leading up to the first game of the season Young would suffer a calf injury. Initially called "nothing major" by head coach Kellen Moore, the defensive end would end up missing the first five games of the season.
Heading into week nine, Young now has a chance to improve even further, this time on the road against the Los Angeles Rams. Kickoff is set for 3:05 p.m. on Sunday.
‘We Will Rise’: Caleb Williams Declares The Team Will Bounce Back After Setback

After a tough loss, Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams is determined to keep his head up and look ahead to the future. Despite a series of challenges and mistakes that contributed to the defeat, Williams confidently stated that the team would rise from this setback and come back stronger.
“We will rise,” Williams said in his postgame interview. “This loss is just a small bump in the road. I believe in this team and in the talent we have. We’ll use this as motivation to come back and perform at a higher level next week.”
The Bears’ performance against the Baltimore Ravens was full of missed opportunities, mistakes, and penalties, ultimately leading to a 30-16 defeat. Despite the frustrations, Williams made it clear that he’s focused on learning from the experience and using it to fuel the team’s improvement moving forward.
“We’ve had our ups and downs this season, but what matters now is how we respond to adversity,” Williams continued. “It’s about learning from the mistakes we made and getting better. I believe in the guys in that locker room, and I know we can turn this around.”

Williams' optimism and leadership were apparent as he spoke about his desire to lead the Bears through this difficult stretch. Despite the loss, he sees this as an opportunity to grow — both personally and as a team. His confidence in the team’s potential is unwavering, and he is determined to help the Bears regain momentum.
“There’s no time to dwell on this loss. We’ve got to move on, learn from it, and get back to what we do best,” Williams said. “The NFL is a league of resilience. We’ve seen teams come back from worse. This is just another chapter in our story, and I know we can write the next one better.”
The Bears’ next challenge will come against a tough opponent, and Williams’ message is clear: it’s time for the team to step up and execute when it matters most. The pressure is on the offense, and Williams knows that he has to lead by example.
“We’ve got to find that rhythm again, especially on offense,” Williams said. “We know what we’re capable of, but now we have to show it. We can’t keep making the same mistakes. It’s about consistency, and I’m ready to step up and help lead us forward.”
As the Bears prepare for their next game, all eyes will be on Williams and the rest of the team to see if they can live up to the confidence that their young quarterback has in them. With a renewed focus on improvement and accountability, the team’s future is still full of potential.
