Chad Johnson Pitches Raiders Making Historic $39 Million Deal With Star WR
The Las Vegas Raiders are a sinking ship and there are clearly a lot of holes on the roster. Though there is talent to be found, many believe that the team should start selling off assets and embrace a rebuild.
However, if Pete Carroll isn’t fired as head coach after the season, the Raiders are more likely to try and fill as many holes as possible and push to win next year. He’s already the oldest head coach in NFL history, so he’d be the wrong choice for a rebuild.
One of the Raiders’ biggest needs is at wide receiver. The team drafted Jack Bech and Dont’e Thornton this year, but neither of them have been making many plays. Jakobi Meyers is a free agent after the season and could get traded before then.
With needs all over the roster, there’s no guarantee the Raiders can afford to use their first-round pick on a wide receiver. That’s why they could be interested in a possible free agent.
Many weren’t very high on the George Pickens trade to the Dallas Cowboys. He’s proven to be a talented wide receiver, but has attitude issues that made many believe he wouldn’t be a good fit. Pickens has been one of the best wide receivers in the NFL this season and is fourth in the leauge with 607 receiving yards.
Pickens is on an expiring deal and will be a free agent in the offseason. Former star wide receiver Chad Johnson took to social media to pitch the Raiders making a huge offer to Pickens this offseason.
“Dear Raiders as representation for Pickens we want 39 million a year & you will see an immediate impact offensively. -management,” Johnson wrote on X.

Should Raiders Go After Pickens?
The Raiders do need wide receiver help, but Pickens likely isn’t the type of player they should pursue. He’s clearly very talented and is going to get a big contract in the offseason, but he’s better off going to a team that is more stable.
With the Raiders needing to upgrade at quarterback and the offense being a disaster, Pickens would get frustrated quickly. He’s proven that he becomes a difficult player to handle when he’s frustrated. That’s not something a struggling Raiders team needs to deal with. Las Vegas needs to focus on rebuilding and not adding potential headaches to the roster.
Has Meyers Played His Last Game With Raiders?
Fresh off an embarrassing 31-0 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, it’s obvious the Raiders are one of the worst teams in the NFL right now. There’s been a lot of talk about the team trading Meyers since he requested one before the season.
Now that the playoffs are a longshot, the Raiders would be wise to cut their losses. The team is in the bye, so this is the perfect time to trade the wide receiver away. Meyers is a good player, but he hasn’t been making much of an impact this season. The Raiders should just be giving his reps to young players going forward.
Seahawks Land Ex-Bears Playmaker & Cut Ties With Receiver Before Texans Game

The Seattle Seahawks made a series of changes at wide receiver ahead of the team’s Week 7 showdown against the Houston Texans. Days before the primetime matchup, Seattle announced a change at wide receiver on the team’s practice squad.
The Seahawks released Tyrone Broden and signed Tyler Scott to the team’s practice squad on October 15, 2025. Scott appeared in 28 games with the Chicago Bears from 2023 to 2024.
The wideout’s best season came in 2023 when Scott posted 17 receptions for 168 yards in 17 appearances. Chicago selected Scott in the fourth round in the 2023 NFL draft following a standout college career at Cincinnati.
Here’s what you need to know about the Seahawks’ latest roster moves.
New Seahawks WR Tyler Scott Drew Comparisons to Legendary Receiver T.Y. Hilton Ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft
Heading into the 2023 NFL draft, Scott drew comparisons to T.Y. Hilton. Scott ran a 4.44-second 40-yard dash at the NFL combine.
“While the comparison to T.Y. Hilton might raise some eyebrows, Scott is a similar player in body type, speed and versatility,” NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein detailed in his pre-draft profile of Scott. “With just two seasons of starting experience at receiver, his route running and ball skills are almost certain to continue to improve and become less of an issue for him in the future. He has the speed and shiftiness to uncover on all three levels.
“Also, he offers jet sweep and receiver screen value. A smallish frame and lack of hand strength are likely to continue to plague him on contested catches, though. Scott is an ascending talent whose versatility and playmaking talent create an easily projectable upside as a good starting slot receiver early in his career.”
The Seahawks Could Get a Boost With Devon Witherspoon, Julian Love & Riq Woolen All Potentially Playing vs. Texans
The Seahawks are 3-point favorites versus the Texans in Week 7, per DraftKings. Seattle could be getting a boost on defense with several key players potentially returning from being sidelined with injuries.
Cornerback Riq Woolen is expected to suit up against the Texans. Additionally, cornerback Devon Witherspoon, safety Julian Love and tackle Josh Jones are all listed as questionable, leaving the door open for each player to play. Pass rusher Derick Hall will not play against the Texans.
Despite fans’ frustration with Woolen this season, Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald continues to support the embattled cornerback.
“He’s had a great week of practice,” Macdonald said of Woolen’s outlook, per Seahawks.com. “Told him yesterday, I’m really excited to see him play, so I can’t wait to see him go out there and do his thing.”
The Seahawks Are Getting Healthy at the Right Time
Overall, the Seahawks appear to be getting healthy at the right time. Macdonald sounded optimistic ahead of the team’s matchup against the Texans.
“Just had a really good practice,” Macdonald noted, via Seahawks.com. “Good week of work, so far. It’s Friday as far as we’re concerned and we’re kind of operating accordingly throughout the weekend into the game.”
It is good news given both the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers moved to 5-2 over the weekend, creating an intense battle in the NFC West.
