Browns’ Myles Garrett Sends Warning to Ravens Star Despite Compliment
As things stand, with a league-high 11 sacks in nine games, Browns star Myles Garrett has a pretty good chance to land in the record books as one of only 23 players in the history of the league to record 20 sacks in a season. But this 2025 season could land him something even bigger–he is within reach of 22.5 sacks, which remains the NFL record, held by former Giants star Michael Strahan.

The current pace has Garrett on his way to 20.8 sacks this season, but with the possibility of reaping up sacks in bunches–as he is capable of doing–Garrett is at least a threat to the Strahan mark.
Recognizing the greatness he has seen numerous times ahead of this week’s matchup against the Browns, tight end Mark Andrews of the Ravens gushed with compliments of Garrett. “Obviously he’s one-of-one,” Andrews said. “He’s probably (one of), if not, the best athlete of all-time on defense, if not the best defensive end of all-time.”
Browns-Ravens Respect Runs High
Andrews is an All-Pro tight end who came into the NFL the year after Garrett’s arrival with the Browns–the two have seen plenty of each other, and Andrews is often assigned to provide a “chip block” on Garrett to help slow down his pass-rushing prowess.
Garrett took Andrews’ compliments respectfully, of course, but also said Andrews should not expect kind words to soften him up on Sunday. Garrett warned he’ll still hit Andrews as hard as always.
“I mean, it means a lot. I have a lot of respect for him and how he plays the game,” Garrett said. “I mean, it’s just been a battle for as long as I can remember against those guys and him as well. So, it’s an honor to hear that and it won’t stop me from running through his chest on Sunday.
“But I do appreciate those comments, and I have a hell of a lot of respect for him.”
Myles Garrett Would Trade Sacks for Wins
Garrett was asked about possibly toppling the NFL’s sack record book this week, and as one might expect, the Browns star and leader says he’d trade it all in for more wins. Garrett had five sacks in a loss to the Patriots in Week 8, but was seen tossing his helmet in frustration afterward.
“The main thing is winning,” he said. “However, many I can get on the way to getting a win that’s more or less in the record. It doesn’t matter to me. Like I said, I would trade all the ones I have back against the Patriots to have a win. I don’t want to say that to be ungrateful, because I was blessed to get that many, but it’s just, it’s not that deep to me.”
Myles Garrett Wants Browns Playing in February
In the end, Garrett knows all he can do is go out and play well–he can’t control the Browns’ deficiencies in the offense or on special teams. But putting up big numbers will mean a lot more to him if the Browns win
“I want to go out there and have a good game,” Garrett said. “I feel like that’s what I can do. That’s what they brought me here for, and I feel like that’s a way in which we can win. You know, me going in and taking over. So, all things come to fruition, and some of my personal goals happened, that’s great. But now I want to go and continue to play after January. That’s the biggest goal.”
