Browns DC Jim Schwartz May Be In High Demand Again
The Cleveland Browns’ decision to hire Jim Schwartz as their defensive coordinator in 2023 was a pivotal one for the organization. They already had plenty of talent, but they didn’t always live up to their potential.

Schwartz turned the unit around almost overnight. He has maximized the talents of Myles Garrett and Denzel Ward, and it feels like everybody is tailor-made for his system. It feels like a plug-and-play system for most players, and the results speak for themselves.
That’s why, after watching the Browns bounce back from a somewhat down year on defense last season, other teams can’t ignore Schwartz for much longer. He’s clearly one of the best defensive coordinators in the game.
With that in mind, Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com believes other teams could try to pry him away for a head coaching position.
He’s paid his dues as a coordinator and might be ready to get a second chance at a head coaching gig.
“I have long thought that Jim Schwartz should get more looks for the head coaching job. I really have truly, truly believed that in my heart of hearts that I think he’s grown in so many ways since the last time he was a head coach,” Cabot passionately explained on the Orange and Brown Talk podcast. “He’s grown as a defensive coordinator, but I think he’s also grown and learned how to deal with players and people and media even more so than when he was a head coach last time. Teams are missing the boat if they don’t interview Jim Schwartz for their head coaching job.”
Browns Risk Major Setback If Schwartz Moves On
Granted, Schwartz hasn’t fared that well as a head coach, and some people are better suited to be assistants than actual head coaches. That being said, a lot has changed in the NFL since his days as head coach of the Lions, but he has shown the ability to adapt to those changes.
Of course, losing him would be a massive blow to this team, so the Browns and their fans can only hope that he continues to go unnoticed.
He should even be a leading candidate for the Browns’ head coaching job if they were to part ways with Kevin Stefanski.
Other than that, we might be getting closer to the end of the line with him in Cleveland, and that would be a devastating blow to the future of the Browns’ defense.
Cowboys WR George Pickens Deletes Instagram Post About Eagles Fans

If you want to understand one thing about Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens, let it be this: for every great or good thing Pickens does, you can count on him doing something equally as stupid to offset it.

Take, for example, the Cowboys’ thrilling, 24-21 win over the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles in Week 12. Pickens was brilliant. He looked like he might be the best wide receiver in the NFL with 9 receptions for 146 yards and 1 touchdown.
So, of course, in the wake of several days of glowing praise, Pickens had to light the match. This time, it came in the form of social media, where he called out Eagles fans in a since-deleted reply to a post from Eagles superfan Gillie Da Kid.
“Weakass Philly fans,” Pickens wrote. “(Expletive) known for sandwiches.”
As we know at this point in his career, decision making isn’t Pickens’ strong suit.
Pickens, Cowboys Made History Against Eagles
Instead of going online to smack talk Eagles fans, Pickens should have spent the last few days basking in the light of his virtuoso performance against Philadelphia — a game in which the Cowboys tied their franchise record by rallying from a 21-0 deficit for the win.
Pickens was simply unstoppable against whoever the Eagles tried to put on him, or however man people they tried to put on him. After 11 games, Pickens is second in the NFL with 1,044 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns.
“George Pickens has blossomed into a superstar with the Cowboys,” Pro Football Focus wrote on its official X account.
Cowboys Traded for Pickens in Spring
The Cowboys sent a 2026 third round pick to the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for Pickens in May after a series of on-field and off-field incidents, including Pickens showing up late for a Christmas Day game against the Kansas City Chiefs in 2024.
That, along with almost a dozen fine for taunting, fines and even writing messages on his eye tape got him his walking papers out of the Steel City.
Pickens’ breakout game against the Eagles came just one week after he was benched for the first series of a Week 11 win over the Las Vegas Raiders for missing the team bus to the stadium.
“CRAZIEST STAT EVER,” ML Football wrote on its official X account. “Cowboys WR George Pickens has MORE RECEIVING YARDS than all the Pittsburgh Steelers wide receivers combined this season. Pickens individual receiving yards: 1,044 Pittsburgh WR corp total yards: 1,009 Pittsburgh traded Pickens for a 3rd rounder.”
“That man don’t got to fit in, he stands out,” Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb said to The Athletic’s Jon Machota. “GP is a hell of a player, man. And there’s plenty more excitement where that’s coming from.”
Eagles fans, as expected, were more than ready to take it just one step further.
“I’ve never had an ACL wish list but that might change today,” Eagles fan Miz wrote on X in a reply to Pickens’ comments.
