Broncos Star Patrick Surtain II's Off-Field Move Emerges Before Jets Game
Just days after he and the Denver Broncos (3-2) took down the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, All-Pro corner Patrick Surtain II is making exciting moves off of the field.
Surtain, 25, had a strong outing as he recorded six total tackles and two pass deflections. With the win, Denver is firmly tied with the Los Angeles Chargers for the best record in the AFC West, and has remained undefeated (2-0) at home this season.
Being that Surtain is one of the best corners in the NFL, he is also one of the highest-paid defensive backs in the sport. In 2024, he signed a four-year deal worth $96 million, and he is worth every single cent, especially when you realize what he has done for the community.
As shared on Instagram by GQ Sports, Surtain revealed that he used $100,000 of his first $1 million to start a foundation that provides STEM programs to students who are at financial disadvantages.
"My foundation mission is to level the playing field for students who's at a financial disadvantage compared to their suburban peers. You know, to allow them to achieve whatever they want in the future. I started a STEM program, which is a program that granted kids specialized classrooms."
Surtain revealed he felt inspired to do so by watching his father and former two-time All-Pro corner, Patrick Surtain, give back to his community.

On the season, Surtain has recorded 21 total tackles and five pass deflections, but is still looking for his first interception of the year.
He and the Broncos will be making the trip across the pond for their Week 6 game against the New York Jets (0-5) for one of the three NFL London games this season. The game is set to kick at 9:30 p.m. ET and will air on NFL Network.
