BREAKING: SEAHAWKS HIT WITH MAJOR INJURY WAVE — 6 STARTERS SIT OUT PRACTICE
The Seattle Seahawks had six players who sat out Wednesday’s practice due to injury.
Stacy Rost: 3 numbers that matter for the Seahawks
Those six players were four-time Pro Bowl defensive end Demarcus Lawrence (quadricep), two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Devon Witherspoon (knee), Pro Bowl safety Julian Love (hamstring), edge rusher Derick Hall (oblique), linebacker Ernest Jones IV (shoulder) and offensive tackle Josh Jones (ankle).
Defensive tackle Jarran Reed also sat out with a non-injury-related/rest designation.
Cornerback Riq Woolen (concussion) and rookie safety Nick Emmanwori (ankle) were both limited participants.
Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said Monday that Hall is “week to week” after suffering an oblique injury in this past Sunday’s loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That seems to indicate that Hall is likely to miss Sunday’s Week 6 road matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
On Wednesday, Macdonald said the game statuses for Lawrence, Witherspoon and Woolen will depend on how the week progresses. Macdonald also offered a similar timeframe when discussing Love’s status on Monday.
Lawrence, Witherspoon and Love each missed Sunday’s loss to Tampa Bay, while Woolen exited the game with a concussion.
It’s unclear when Ernest Jones IV got hurt. He played every defensive snap against the Buccaneers.
Macdonald said Josh Jones, the team’s top backup at offensive tackle, will be out again this week.
Below is a full look at Seattle’s practice report from Wednesday. The Seahawks will release another practice report Thursday and their mandatory game status designations on Friday.
