Trevon Diggs Speaks Out After Being Benched for Cowboys' Tie Against Packers
After the Dallas Cowboys traded superstar linebacker Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers, one of the most anticipated games of the 2025 NFL season was set for Week 4, with these two storied franchises going head-to-head at AT&T Stadium.
The showdown between the Packers and Cowboys in Parsons’ return to Dallas didn’t disappoint, except for the result, as these teams scoring 40 points apiece wasn’t enough to avoid a tie. It was an absolute offensive slugfest, which provided a lot of entertainment but also raised a number of questions for both teams heading into Week 5.
One storyline that has been interesting for the Cowboys heading into Week 5 is one-time All-Pro cornerback Trevon Diggs getting benched against the Packers.
Trevon Diggs Opens Up About Not Starting

Diggs did not start in Week 4 against the Packers due to disciplinary reasons stemming from issues both on and off the field. The veteran corner was asked about the benching, and he gave an interesting response.
“Rough week,” Diggs said during media availability on Wednesday. “I guess coach is holding me accountable. It’s cool. Back on track this week, ready to work.”
When asked if he’ll be starting in Week 5 against the
“Yeah,” Diggs said.
Clearly, there appears to be some tension between Diggs and the
Cowboys’ Defense is a Massive Problem

It has been a strange season for the
Dallas will head into Week 5 with an unusual record of 1-2-1, and it’s unclear whether this team can turn things around or is destined to miss the
However, the Cowboys might be formidable on offense, with star quarterback Dak Prescott leading the way, even without star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who is dealing with an ankle injury.
At this point, it seems as though it will have to be Prescott and company on offense to lead the way in order to give this team any chance of clinching a spot in the playoffs, even though it is admittedly very early in the 2025 campaign.
Despite only winning one game so far this season, Prescott is leading the league in passing, with 1,119 yards to his credit. The Cowboys are also sitting ahead of Josh Allen’s Buffalo Bills
However, the Cowboys‘ defense ranks last in the NFL, allowing 420.5 yards per game. Dallas is also second-to-last in the league, tied with the
KaVontae Turpin's Foot Injury Puts Status for Cowboys-Jets Game in Doubt

The injuries are continuing to pile up for the Dallas Cowboys, with six starters being held out of practice on Wednesday afternoon. Among the star players sidelined is CeeDee Lamb
Cowboys All-Pro return specialist KaVontae Turpin was a surprise practice holdout during the open session, with the team announcing he was dealing with a foot injury.
Following practice, Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News reported that Turpin is dealing with a foot sprain, though there was no timeline for his return to the field.
While there is no word on how long Turpin will be held out of action, his status for the showdown with the New York Jets in Week 5 is now up in the air.

Along with his duties in the return game, Turpin has contributed as a wide receiver and out of the backfield. As a do-it-all playmaker, Turpin missing the Jets game would leave several holes on the Cowboys' depth chart.
This season, Turpin has hauled in 11 catches for 159 yards and one touchdown, while carrying the ball six times for 23 yards.
In the return game, Turpin has returned three punts for 30 yards and 16 kickoffs for 405 yards.
We will have to monitor Turpin's status as the week goes on, but hopefully he will be healthy enough to suit up on Sunday afternoon. Kickof between the Cowboys and Jets at MetLife Stadium is set for 1:00 p.m. ET on FOX.
