Terry McLaurin's Quad Injury Puts His Status for Week 4 in Jeopardy
Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin's health is a question mark for Washington entering Week 4.
Washington coach Dan Quinn offered few details on McLaurin's quadriceps injury that forced him to exit the game Sunday in the third quarter. ESPN reported on Tuesday that McLaurin was seeking additional opinions on the injury, which appeared to happen on a dive toward the endzone at the end of a 56-yard catch in Washington's 41-24 win over Las Vegas.
McLaurin has 10 catches for 149 yards this season.
The Commanders are due to update injury information on Wednesday and issue an early practice participation report after their first practice of Week 4 ahead of their game at Atlanta.
McLaurin stayed on the sideline in uniform after his diving TD attempt was overturned via replay last week. The long gain was originally ruled a touchdown.
McLaurin hasn't missed a start since 2020 and has a streak of 72 consecutive games played.
He entered the season with little on-field preparation following a protracted holdout that ended Aug. 25 when he signed a three-year contract extension.
His status for the Commanders (2-1) will be closely watched along with other injury updates from Quinn on Wednesday. Quarterback Jayden Daniels (knee) and wide receiver Noah Brown (groin) did not play last week.
McLaurin, a third-round pick in 2019, has 470 career receptions for 6,528 yards and 38 touchdowns.
Ben Johnson: ‘We May Be the Underdogs, But We’ll Make the Raiders Fear Us’

In a highly anticipated showdown between the Chicago Bears and the Las Vegas Raiders, Bears head coach Ben Johnson is making it clear that despite the odds being stacked against his team, his players have the heart and tenacity to give the Raiders a run for their money. With the Bears entering as the underdogs, Johnson’s message to his team is simple but powerful:
In a recent press conference, Johnson spoke passionately about the mentality that’s guiding his team into the Week 4 matchup. "We may be the underdogs in everyone’s eyes, but never underestimate our strength. We’re going to make the Raiders fear us," said Johnson. His words aren’t just motivational; they are a rallying cry for a team that’s been fighting for respect all season.
The Bears come into this game with a challenging record and facing a tough opponent in the Raiders, who are seen as a stronger, more established team. However, Johnson believes that his team’s resolve and determination will make all the difference. "This team never gives up, and we’ll fight until the final whistle blows," Johnson added. "We might not have everything, but what we do have is the fighting spirit and the hunger for victory that no other team can match!"
It’s a bold statement from Johnson, who has taken a fresh, energetic approach to coaching in Chicago. Since his arrival, Johnson has worked tirelessly to instill confidence in his squad, believing that every player has the potential to outperform expectations. The Bears have certainly shown flashes of brilliance, especially in their defense, but the challenge now is putting together a complete performance against a Raiders team that has been firing on all cylinders.
Johnson’s strategy seems clear: embrace the underdog narrative and use it as fuel to drive the Bears to greater heights. His players, many of whom have something to prove, have responded to this mindset with relentless energy. One key player to watch will be quarterback Justin Fields, whose development under Johnson has shown significant promise. Fields, known for his dual-threat capabilities, has the potential to be the catalyst in this game, and Johnson is hopeful that he can finally put it all together in a big game.
For the Raiders, this game is an opportunity to prove their dominance, but they should not overlook the Bears. Johnson’s ability to motivate his players and their hunger for a statement win make them a team that could surprise even the most seasoned veterans.
As the game approaches, the Bears are embracing their underdog status. But make no mistake: Johnson is determined to prove that the Bears are more than just an underdog story.
With everything on the line, expect this to be a game filled with grit, determination, and a coach’s unwavering belief in his team’s ability to rise above the challenge. Johnson’s words echo loudly:
