The first year of New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn's tenure hasn't gone to plan in the Big Apple with zero wins on the team's ledger and a road game next against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Jets owner Woody Johnson made headlines recent as he called for improved quarterback play amid a controversy between Justin Fields and Tyrod Taylor. Johnson criticized the team's QB rating in recent weeks and put the onus on the Jets' signal callers to play better going forward.
On Thursday, former 49ers quarterback and Super Bowl XXIX MVP Steve Young joined ESPN's Pardon the Interruption, giving Young the chance to speak his peace in response to the Jets owner's recent comments.

Young's Message to Jets Owner
Young started by sending a message to Justin Fields, who may be benched this week in favor of Taylor.
"If I'm Justin Fields the quarterback has to stay 100 percent accountable, despite how irritating that comment would have been to me," Young said.
"Like, that's who you are. Now, can I comment as me as the quarterback, watching this, and I would say to the equity owner of the team, that (poor QB) rating has been repeated over and over and over again," Young said, regardless of coaches and others surrounding them.
"I think there's got to be a time when he says that comment, the vulnerability to actually hear yourself say, oh my gosh, another really talented quarterback has a terrible rating on my watch, what can I do different?
"What can I bring...New blood to this situation that seems to be going around and around," Young added, saying it would be a "miracle" to see the Jets become a positive place for quarterbacks.
Jets Get Crack at Flacco Led Bengals
Joe Flacco has helped revive the Bengals' passing attack with Joe Burrow targeting a mid-December return and Ja'Marr Chase up to his usual Superman heroics.
The Jets' offense hasn't put up more than 22 points since Sept. 1 on the road in Tampa Bay, a 29-27 loss.
Glenn's team has enough talent to make Sunday's game close, but the quarterback play must improve in a hurry. Fields' running ability and Taylor's accuracy give the Jets a chance to score enough points to win, but it's going to take a team effort to get back in the win column for the first time since 2024-25.
