Steelers Make Final Call on CB Jalen Ramsey for Week 6
The Pittsburgh Steelers received a positive update on veteran cornerback Jalen Ramsey on the eve of Week 6. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Ray Fittipaldo reported Ramsey was expected to play Sunday against the Cleveland Browns.
That report has come to fruition. Ramsey was not included on the team’s Week 6 inactive list an hour and a half prior to the Browns matchup.
The Steelers had wide receiver Calvin Austin III, safety Chuck Clark, guard Andrus Peat, defensive lineman Logan Lee, and defensive end DeMarvin Leal on their inactive list for Sunday’s showdown.
Ramsey suffered a hamstring injury in Week 4 against the Minnesota Vikings. An initial report the day after the cornerback sustained the ailment indicated he could land on injured reserve.
If that happened, Ramsey would have missed a minimal of four games.
But the veteran cornerback avoided IR and won’t miss a game barring a setback. The Steelers had a bye in Week 5 while traveling back from Dublin, Ireland.
Ramsey received the opportunity for extra rest with the bye week.
Back in action for the first time since September 28, the Steelers will host the Browns at 1 pm ET at Acrisure Stadium on Sunday.
Jalen Ramsey Officially Active in Week 6 vs. Browns
With Ramsey active, the Steelers will have a completely healthy secondary for the first time since early in Week 1.
During the season opener, fellow cornerback Joey Porter Jr. and safety DeShon Elliott suffered injuries. Porter and Elliott missed each of the next two games.
Elliott returned for the Week 4 matchup versus the Vikings. Porter will be back on the field for the first time since the season opener Sunday.
Without Porter, Ramsey has played more outside cornerback the past three games than pundits expected him to for Pittsburgh this season. But Porter will be back to play outside along with Darius Slay versus the Browns.
Therefore, Ramsey could line up in multiple spots Sunday.
In four games this season, Ramsey has posted 14 combined tackles, four pass defenses and one interception. He returned a fumble for a touchdown in Week 4, but a replay review wiped out the turnover and the score.
The Steelers listed Ramsey as questionable entering Week 6. The cornerback didn’t practice Wednesday or Thursday, but he was a full participant at practice Friday.
In addition to Porter, edge rusher Alex Highsmith will return for the Steelers on Sunday. Highsmith didn’t even travel with the team to Ireland for the Vikings showdown.
Steelers RB Jaylen Warren Back Against Browns
On top of the returns on defense, the Steelers offense will receive a boost. Running back Jaylen Warren will play against Cleveland.
Warren was a late addition to the Steelers’ injury report ahead of Week 4. He then didn’t dress versus the Vikings.
Without Warren, the Steelers experienced their best rushing day of the young season in Dublin. Behind a stellar game from Kenneth Gainwell, the Steelers rushed for 131 yards.
They didn’t have more than 72 rushing yards in any of their first three games.
Even with Warren back, though, the Steelers will have their hands full to generate a rushing attack in Week 6. The Browns defense has allowed the fewest yards per carry in the NFL this season.
Warren has run for 132 yards, averaging 3.1 yards per rush in 2025. He’s also had 11 receptions for 142 yards.
Warren hasn’t tallied a rushing touchdown yet, but he does have a receiving score this season.
The Steelers, though, will be without one of their starting wideouts, Austin, for the first time this season. Austin suffered a shoulder injury during Week 4.
Ja'Marr Chase Stuns Fans and Reporters With Vulgar Comment About Steelers

Ja’Marr Chase went unfiltered on Sunday as he looked ahead to the Cincinnati Bengals’ Week 7 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Chase caught 10 passes for 94 yards and a touchdown in the Bengals’ 27-18 loss on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis. Not even newly arrived quarterback Joe Flacco could save Cincinnati from dropping its fourth contest in a row.
After the game, Chase was asked to weigh in on the Bengals’ upcoming game against the Steelers. The All-Pro wide receiver used some pretty interesting words to describe what Pittsburgh wanted to do to Cincinnati during the contest.
“We know the Steelers are going to try to come in and raw dog us and kill us,” said Chase. “But we’re going to be ready for that challenge, and we’re going to be waiting for it.”
Fans on social media were hilariously scandalized by Chase’s wording, to say the least.
Even NFL reporters Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo couldn’t believe their ears when they heard Chase’s comments.
The Pro Bowl wide receiver may just be tired from all the losing Cincinnati has done since Joe Burrow went out with a toe injury in the Bengals’ Week 2 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Chase even had to pull double duty last week, when he finished with arguably the most depressing stat line of the 2025 NFL season.
