Teddi Mellencamp is dealing with yet another scare as her cancer journey continues.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum â who was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer after her melanoma metastasized to her brain and lungs â revealed during the Tuesday, Aug. 19 episode of her podcast, Two Ts in a Pod, that she had another melanoma spot removed amid her treatment.
âThis is a reminder that even if you have lung cancer, brain cancer, whatever, you still need to continue to get your skin checked, because yesterday I went to get a skin check and I had an abnormal spot,â she shared. âThey removed it, theyâre sending it in to get checked and make sure itâs nothing."
She continued, âThe good news for me â what Iâm telling myself â means itâs okay, itâs in a new spot. All of my original melanomas were on my back and this new spot is on my stomach. I just wanted to remind you guys because I hadnât gone in about six months for a particular skin check.â
Mellencamp was joined by Real Housewives of New Jerseyâs Dolores Catania, who was shocked by the news because her friend has been undergoing treatment for cancer.
âYouâre like, âOh Iâm getting checked,â but no, you gotta remember, go get your skin checks even if youâre in treatment for something else,â Mellencamp said. âThereâs specialty doctors that do specialty things. So Iâm really glad I went yesterday, because now weâre on top of it, and itâs gonna alleviate some stress.â
âWell, I'm glad to hear that,â Catania told her. âAnd yeah, I mean, I guess it makes so much sense to think that because you're at the doctors all the time that the other things that aren't being checked still exist. Wow.â
