NFL Makes Shocking Call on CeeDee Lamb’s Preseason Penalty
The Dallas Cowboys suffered another tough defeat in their second preseason contest on Saturday, as the Baltimore Ravens handed them a 31-13 loss. Ahead of the game, though, the NFL made a big decision on whether or not Cowboys star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb was going to face further punishment for his controversial penalty in the team’s preseason opener against the Los Angeles Rams.
Even though he wasn’t playing against the Rams, Lamb found a way to get penalized during the game. After the contest, the league revealed that it would take a closer look at the penalty to see if Lamb would face more consequences for his actions, with their official decision being revealed before Dallas’ clash with Baltimore.
Did CeeDee Lamb Get Punished for Controversial Preseason Penalty?
“NFL determined that Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb will not be fined for the penalty and contact he drew last week vs the Rams, per a league official,” Adam Schefter of ESPN reported.
CeeDee Lamb Avoids Catastrophe in Cowboys Preseason Opener

The last thing Dallas and their fans wanted was to see Lamb endure a hard hit in a preseason game he wasn’t even playing in. Thankfully, he avoided any sort of injury from the incident, meaning he should be ready to go for the start of the Cowboys’ season, when they take on the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1.
If Dallas has any hopes of meeting expectations in 2025, they are going to need Lamb at his best. With George Pickens being brought in to help open up the passing game alongside him, the Cowboys could feature a lethal offense moving forward. With this decision, Lamb won’t have to worry about this strange penalty anymore, meaning he can focus all of his attention on getting ready for the start of the new season.
