NFL Announces Punishment for 4 Commanders Players After Loss to Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks handed the Washington Commanders a convincing 38-14 loss in Week 9. Moreover, four players from the Commanders team will face fines, with one of them facing a $100,000 fine.

On November 8, the NFL published its Gameday Accountability
When a fine is issued, players are informed of the violation and have the option to appeal. Appeals are reviewed by officers, including former NFL players Derrick Brooks, Ramon Foster, and Jordy Nelson, who are jointly selected and compensated by the NFL and NFLPA. Ultimately, their rulings are final and binding.
Luvu received the heftiest of fines from the NFL as the Commanders player was penalized $100,000 for an unnecessary roughness due to a hip-drop tackle incident in the first quarter at the 8:01 minute mark. Moreover, this was the largest fine any NFL player received on the list of fines for Week 9.
What Other Commanders’ Players Received a Fine?
Luvu was the headliner, in a bad way, for the list of fines, but he wasn’t alone. Biadasz was next on the list of Commanders to receive a financial penalty,
The other two players on the list of fines from the NFL are Magee and Paul. Let’s start with Paul, since his fine was larger and was for unnecessary roughness due to a facemask incident in the second quarter at the 13:14 minute mark. As a result, the league is fining Paul $6,256.
Finally, the last player to garner a fine from the Commander was Magee, and due to the sums that two of his teammates received, he might feel that he got off lucky. Magee
A Seahawks Player Also Received a Fine From This Game
The Commanders weren’t the only team to have players receive fines in this contest against the Seahawks, as Seattle had one player earn a financial penalty as well.
For Tariq Woolen, the league is fining him for unsportsmanlike conduct during an incident in the fourth quarter at the 10:46 mark. As a result, the NFL is fining the Seahawks player $11,593.
Nonetheless, with Seattle securing the win and placing itself as a serious Super Bowl contender in the NFC, along with a tight race for the NFC West division, Woolen might be okay with the fine.
As for the Commanders’ players, Washington sit at 3-6 heading into Week 10, and their playoff aspirations look to be over in a competitive NFC. Furthermore, there’s the injury to Jayden Daniels that he suffered in the loss to the Seahawks, so these fines on the Washington players will likely be seen as bad news on top of a bad season that the team is experiencing.
Patrick Mahomes: 'I’m Not Perfect, But We’re Ready to Compete for Another Super Bowl — Preseason Mistakes Won’t Stop Us!'
As the Kansas City Chiefs wrap up their preseason preparations, star quarterback Patrick Mahomes isn’t letting a few mistakes overshadow his confidence heading into the 2025 NFL season. After a solid yet imperfect preseason performance, Mahomes reflected on the challenges of perfecting his craft, all while keeping his eyes on the bigger picture — another potential Super Bowl championship.
"I know I made some mistakes, but that’s part of the process," Mahomes admitted. "I’m not perfect, but I’m always pushing myself to get better. We’ve got a lot of work to do before Week 1, but I’m confident in my team, and I’ll make sure we’re ready to compete for another Super Bowl. I’m not worried about the preseason — it’s all about getting better and making those plays when it counts."
For Mahomes, preseason is a time to fine-tune the offense and iron out any wrinkles. While the Chiefs’ offense showed flashes of brilliance, a few misfires and mistakes popped up — something Mahomes recognizes as a part of the growth process. It’s clear, though, that the two-time Super Bowl MVP is focusing on the long term. With his eyes set on the regular season, Mahomes is determined to learn from these preseason mistakes and lead his team to greater heights.
Mahomes' leadership goes beyond just the field. He understands the importance of patience, both for himself and his team. As he prepares for the real challenge ahead, he remains focused on building chemistry with his teammates and ensuring that everyone is on the same page. Despite the inevitable hiccups of preseason, the message is clear: Mahomes and the Chiefs are hungry for more success, and they’re ready to prove that their journey to another Super Bowl is just getting started.
While Mahomes’ confidence is unwavering, the Chiefs’ preparation isn’t just about his performance. The team’s offense has shown its versatility, with new faces contributing to an already loaded squad. The mix of established stars and emerging talent has Mahomes feeling excited about the team's potential. With new weapons around him and a solid offensive line, Mahomes knows that this team can compete with anyone, even if they don’t have everything figured out yet.
As the regular season looms, Mahomes’ mindset is clear: mistakes in the preseason are merely stepping stones toward the ultimate goal. The Chiefs are focused, determined, and primed for another shot at the ultimate prize — and Mahomes is leading the charge.
