BREAKING: Carolina Panthers Add QB After Bryce Young Injury

Just as the Carolina Panthers were getting on a hot streak, winning four of their past five games, Bryce Young suffered an ankle sprain. Now the Panthers will need a new starting quarterback for their Week 8 matchup against the Buffalo Bills.
Andy Dalton came in to relieve Young after his injury, and the 38-year-old former Pro Bowl QB will be making his first start of the season on Sunday. However, now the Panthers have added another quarterback to the mix.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Panthers have added veteran QB Mike White to their practice squad.
White spent last season with the Buffalo Bills, but now the 30-year-old will head back to the NFC after previously spending time with the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins. White has made 15 appearances and seven starts since arriving as a fifth-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft with the Dallas Cowboys.
Chances are, White will never see the field in Carolina. Plus, they already have former Detroit Lions third-round pick Hendon Hooker developing on the practice squad too, but White offers more experience than the 27-year-old.
Since Young is dealing with a high-ankle sprain, he’ll likely miss more than just the team’s Week 8 game. High-ankle sprains typically knock players out for multiple games. After Buffalo, the Panthers head to Green Bay to face the Packers, but a very winnable game shows up on the schedule in Week 10 against the Saints. Hopefully, the Panthers will have their starting quarterback again by then, but Carolina has yet to release a timetable for Young.
