Kyle Trask gets his first shot with a new team since being cut by Buccaneers
We're six weeks into the season, and things couldn't be going better record-wise for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Injuries have started piling up in a pretty gnarly way, though, and threaten to rain on the early parade everyone is throwing after a 5-1 start to the year.
It's starting to feel like it won't be the only parade in Tampa Bay's future.
Missing out on all the good vibes is former backup quarterback Kyle Trask. In the span of five years he went from potentially being developed into Tom Brady's successor to looking for a new team after the Bucs released him at the end of training camp.
After a few months, it sounds like he might finally have found a landing spot.
Trask was rumored to be someone the Las Vegas Raiders were interested in after Aidan O'Connell was lost to an injury, but trading for Kenny Pickett soon put an end to that. Since then all has been quiet for Trask until this week when his phone finally rang.
Indianapolis Colts call in ex-Buccaneers QB Kyle Trask for a workout
It was the Indianapolis Colts, the mirror image of the Bucs over in the AFC, calling him up for a workout.
I believe this is Kyle Trask’s first workout since he was released by the Bucs in August. https://t.co/DcCdhe9v44

Trask is the second former Florida Gators quarterback on the roster, and it's an injury to Anthony Richardson that has Indy looking to bring in some help. Richardson was injured in truly nightmarish fashion last week when an exercise band snapped and hit him in the eye.
It's an inury that has opened the door for Trask to get his first crack as a second chance in the NFL. His journey started trending toward career backup while he was with the Bucs, which is hardly a bad thing. While he wasn't a fit in Tampa, Trask has worked with some top-tier offensive minds which puts him in a perfect position to perhaps do something his potential teammate Daniel Jones is doing.
Over the course of his five year career, Trask has worked closely with Tom Brady, Baker Mayfield, Dave Canales, Liam Coen, and Josh Grizzard -- that's not a bad rotation of football profressors to have learned from.
He wasn't able to put it together with the Bucs but he also never had a clean shot at winning the QB1 role. Perhaps some time in Indy, assuming he gets a job there, could be what he needs to restart his career and finally find some success.
Maxx Crosby of Las Vegas Raiders: A Quiet Gesture that Speaks Volumes – Why His Act of Kindness on a Flight is Shaping His Legacy

Las Vegas, NV — October 11, 2025
Crosby, who has quickly become one of the most dominant defensive players in the NFL, was caught in a viral moment this week that has left fans and fellow athletes alike in awe. The incident occurred not on the football field, but rather aboard a commercial flight from Las Vegas, where Crosby made a seemingly small but profoundly meaningful gesture that reminded everyone of what true leadership and character really look like.
A Quiet Act of Respect
According to multiple witnesses, just moments before takeoff, Crosby — dressed casually in a hoodie and baseball cap — was seated in first class when an elderly man in a U.S. veteran cap was escorted down the aisle. Without hesitation, Crosby stood up, offered his seat, and urged the veteran to take it. The veteran initially refused, but Crosby insisted with a smile and quietly moved to an economy seat without making a scene.
However, what came next made this moment even more special. After relocating to his new seat, Crosby didn’t seek attention or bask in any praise. Instead, he spent the next few minutes helping fellow passengers with their luggage, offering assistance to families, and even helping a mother calm her crying baby. According to flight attendants, Crosby “was just helping — quietly, gently, as if it was the most natural thing in the world.”
This modest act, captured by no cameras and recorded by no media outlets, was a reflection of Crosby’s personality both on and off the field — humble, genuine, and compassionate. “He wasn’t drawing attention to himself,” one witness noted. “He was just being a good person.”
A Ripple of Kindness: The Flight Cabin Responds
As Crosby continued his quiet service, passengers began to take notice. Within minutes, murmurs spread across the cabin, and then, a spontaneous show of admiration erupted. Fellow passengers started chanting his name: “Crosby! Crosby!” The reaction was overwhelming — applause, cheers, and even tears filled the plane as everyone realized the full extent of Crosby’s kindness.
What made this moment even more impactful was the deep connection it forged with those onboard. One passenger shared a poignant reflection, writing on social media, “No cameras. No PR stunt. Just pure class.”
This simple truth set social media ablaze, with fans across the world praising Crosby for showing the kind of leadership that cannot be measured in sacks or tackles for loss.
