Jets Make Justin Fields Injury Announcement Ahead of Bucs Game
New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn provided an injury update on starting quarterback Justin Fields on Monday, September 15.
“Yeah, he is in the [concussion] protocol right now, and it’s always a hard one to really try to evaluate until we get more information. So I’m sure I’ll be giving you guys more information as the week progresses,” Glenn said.
In Week 3, the Jets travel for their first road game of the season when they take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Insider Shares Additional Thoughts on Fields’ Injury
NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport shared some more information on “Good Morning Football.”
“It is a concussion for Justin Fields, serious in its own right. He was evaluated in the second half for a concussion in the NFL’s concussion protocol. Tyrod Taylor finished the game for him. Everyone recovers differently from concussions; every player is different, every concussion is different, so we will follow this throughout the course of the week,” Rapoport explained.

Fields’ status is uncertain for the Jets ahead of Week 3. A media member asked Coach Glenn if Fields misses “significant practice time” this week, would he play?
“Well, it’s hard for me as a coach once we get to Friday and you haven’t had any reps, and that is just something I believe in. Again, I don’t want to put anything on that as far as where we are at with him until we get to that point,” Coach Glenn explained.
It Could Be Tyrod Taylor Time for the Jets
Not that any confirmation was necessary, but Coach Glenn did say Tyrod Taylor would be up if Fields were out this week for the Jets.
That is obvious based on the roster construction. Taylor and Fields are the only passers on the team’s 53-man roster. They also have undrafted free agent Brady Cook on the practice squad. He would, at a bare minimum, be a practice squad elevation this week if Fields were unavailable.
Glenn Shares Confidence in Taylor if He Has to Step Up
“If Justin can’t play, Tyrod would be the guy. We have to make sure that we build a plan that is suitable for him,” Glenn said.
Taylor, 36, finished the final quarter for the Jets in place of Fields against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, September 14.
He went 7-for-11 for 56 passing yards, had one touchdown pass, no turnovers, and was sacked twice.
“I don’t think it changes that much,” Glenn responded when asked for the major differences with Taylor running the offense versus Fields. “I’ve said that during camp, that was one of the positive things of having Tyrod as a backup. There are some things that we’d want to get together as a staff and make sure that we align on as far as specifically this is what Tyrod likes and that’s communication with Tyrod too.”
“Worst To First?” New York Giants Fans Thinking About Going From Worst to First After Dallas Cowboys Latest Debacle

The New York Giants finished with a 3-14 record during the 2024 season. With that being said, there is new hope and optimism for the Giants as the 2025 season begins.

The roster is much improved. The quarterback room is different, and the defense has the potential to be very good. This is the fourth season that New York will have the regime of head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen. Is there a chance that the Giants can actually go from worst to first in the NFC East in 2025?
New York Giants Fans Believe That They Can Go from Worst to First In 2025

After the Dallas Cowboys traded away Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers, many Giants fans believe that they won’t be in last place in the NFC East this season. However, some New York feels like they could be a team that can go from worst to first in the division this season.
The last time that the Giants won the NFC East was during the 2011 season, where they won the Super Bowl against the New England Patriots. This is what some New York fans said about the potential from going worst to first this season:
The NFC East in 2025:
– Cowboys have a dogshit defense without Micah Parsons
– Commanders are old, slow, and injured
– Eagles Super Bowl Hangover & Madden Cover Curse
– Giants have aura at QB again and one of the most improved rosters in the NFL![]()

It will be interesting to see how the Giants will do in the first two of the season against the Commanders and the Cowboys. It will go a long way in deciding what kind of 2025 NFL season New York will have.
