Jets' Allen Lazard Raises Eyebrows With Subtweet
The New York Jets are in a tough position right now.
Week 7 is here and the Jets are the only winless team in the National Football League. This is after a transformational offseason that saw big-time veterans, like Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams, go elsewhere and a brand new regime come in and take over led by head coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey.
The Jets have a much younger overall roster than they did last year. In fact, there are just four players on the active roster right now 30 years old or older: Josh Reynolds, Thomas Hennessy, Tyrod Taylor, and Nick Folk.
There's plenty of drama around New York
Glenn has been clear from the beginning that it takes a bit to build a completely new culture. It isn't the first time he's been a part of a transition like this. He was the defensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions as they transformed from being consistently one of the teams at the bottom of the NFL standings to contenders in the NFC. Glenn joined the Lions as defensive coordinator in 2021 under head coach Dan Campbell. That season, the Lions went 3-13. The following year, the Lions went 9-8 and then really broke out in 2023 with a 12-5 record.
All of this is to say, it takes time to turn around a franchise. But, unsurprisingly there's a lot of noise out there in the meantime. The Jets currently are 0-6. From all of the trade speculation out there, to questions about quarterback Justin Fields, there's plenty being said about New York. On top of this, Jets receiver Allen Lazard raised some eyebrows himself on Thursday with a cryptic message on X.
"It gets easier with honesty," Lazard said.

With the drama around the team heightened due to the winless record, everything seems to be blown out of proportion. Lazard isn't having the season he likely wanted to have himself. He's played in four of the Jets' six games and has just four catches overall for 24 yards.
As of right now, this is just an ambiguous post that could -- or could not -- have to do with the Jets. The timing is interesting with all of the drama swirling with the team. It's not even the first cryptic post by a player over the last week after running back Breece Hall had one himself. Something to keep an eye on, at least.
Browns Star Myles Garrett Sounds Off on Offensive Struggles

Cleveland Browns star Myles Garrett is frustrated.
Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett did not hold back when discussing the team’s recent offensive struggles amid a 1-5 start to the year.
The Browns are coming off a 23-9 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Cleveland passed the ball a whopping 52 times with rookie Dillon Gabriel in the loss. He completed 55.8% of his passes for 221 yards but the Browns were unable to find the end zone.
Garrett would have liked the Kevin Stefanski-led unit to commit more to the run. Cleveland ran for just 65 yards on 17 attempts.
“I would have liked to see us stick to the run a little bit. Especially with a dynamic playmaker like Quinshon (Judkins),” Garrett said. “Hell, even Dylan [Sampson]. Would have liked to see it, but they saw it differently.”
The offense has been a mess for the Browns, who had hoped Gabriel could provide a spark. He has not and Cleveland has not scored more than 17 points in 11 straight games, dating back to last season.
Garrett doesn’t sound like he has a lot of faith in the system or play-calling. But he knows rookies — like Judkins, Sampson, Gabriel, and tight end Harold Fannin — are all eager to make their mark.
“One thing that does make me hopeful is the guys who are over there and especially the young guys who are hungry and ready to go and want to make plays and who are urgent,” Garrett said. “That makes me hopeful.”
Browns Star Myles Garrett Says Frustration Will Remain
Garrett turned heads with his postgame comments after the loss to the Steelers. The former Defensive Player of the Year was fed up with losing.
“It’s frustrating,” a visibly upset Garrett said. “To lose the same way every time is frustrating as hell.”
Garrett stood behind that statement on Friday and also had something to say about the fans.
“I’m not going to stop being frustrated until we win. And one win’s not going to be enough,” Garrett said. “It’s not like (fans) can be any more frustrated than than the people who are out there putting their body on the line and not winning. You can never be frustrated than someone who’s actually in that ring or on that field.”
Part of Garrett’s frustration has been due to his personal production. He’s still impacting the game but has been held without a sack for three weeks.
Browns DE Myles Garrett on Joe Flacco’s Big Night: ‘Joe Looked Like Joe’
The Browns were ridiculed on Thursday for trading away veteran quarterback Joe Flacco, who helped lead the Bengals to a 33-31 victory. Flacco looked like he was on his way to retirement with the Browns and was benched in favor of Gabriel. He passed for 342 yards and three touchdowns against the Steelers in his second start with Cincinnati.
“Joe looked like Joe. It makes me see that whatever offense we’re committed to running to produce wins doesn’t see Joe as the most productive,” Garrett said. “Maybe his style doesn’t fit how we want to run it.”
The Browns have an opportunity to get their offense on track against the 1-5 Miami Dolphins this week at home. Cleveland is a rare favorite for the matchup.
