Ian Rapoport links Packers to Micah Parsons
The Dallas Cowboys remain hesitant to trade Micah Parsons after his request, yet NFL insider Ian Rapoport said the Green Bay Packers would aggressively pursue him, calling them one of the teams most eager to land the star defender as he pushes for a new mega deal.
Rapoport noted that Dallas has not received formal offers for Micah Parsons, a four-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro, because the team has resisted his trade requests. Still, he believes the Packers would be a perfect landing spot if the Cowboys chose to move him.
With contract extension talks stalled, the standoff between Parsons and Dallas continues, and the longer it drags on, the more it seems Jerry Jones might eventually seek maximum value in a trade. Should that happen, Green Bay could be among the top suitors.
“I would expect that the Packers would be among the teams interested.”
“That’s the kind of team that I would say, if Micah was going to be traded, that he’d be going to.”

“I would expect that the Packers would be among the teams interested. And I would say I would expect that the Packers would be among the teams really interested,” Rapoport remarked on his appearance on the ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ on Monday.
Ian Rapoport’s thoughts on the Packers landing Micah Parsons
Rapoport indicated that a potential deal for Parsons would probably resemble the Chicago Bears’ massive trade for Khalil Mack in 2018, when they shipped two first-round selections and two other draft picks to the Raiders to secure the star pass rusher.
“They have paid Jordan Love, they have a bunch of really good young players…but they have money to spend, and they are really good. So that’s the kind of team that I would say if Micah was going to be traded, that he’d be going to because it’s like, ‘We need one final piece, this guy is an absolute dog, he’s worth all the money, so pay him all the money.’ God only knows what [David] Mulugheta would make that contract; it’d be all of it. But it’d be worth it because you’d get Micah Parsons,” Ian Rapoport continued.
Parsons’ agent, Mulugheta, has largely been sidelined by Jerry Jones and the Cowboys’ front office. Jones has previously admitted he avoids reaching out to Mulugheta, preferring to handle negotiations directly with players. That stance conflicts with Parsons’ firm declaration nearly five months ago that he would not agree to any contract unless his agent was part of the process.
No matter where Micah Parsons signs, he appears poised to establish a new benchmark for defensive contracts. Only 26 years old and already a three-time All-Pro, Parsons has seen Myles Garrett and T.J. Watt ink record-setting agreements worth over $40 million annually. His next deal is widely expected to eclipse both, though Parsons has insisted earlier this offseason that the value of other players’ contracts will not dictate his own.
