Former Saints quarterback Drew Brees provides his unfiltered opinion on the Philadelphia Eagles despite 3-0 start
The Philadelphia Eagles certainly look like the reigning Super Bowl champions, currently holding an undefeated record through the first three weeks of the 2025 NFL Season. However, Drew Brees doesn't see it that way.
Instead, he joined First Take and provided a blunt assessment on the Eagles, specifically calling out their offense.
Drew Brees brings the heat in his First Take debut, calling the Eagles offense "boring" after not putting Jalen Hurts in his top NFL quarterbacks right now.
"I respect Philly, they are winning games... I can't stand to watch that offense. It's the most boring offense." pic.twitter.com/Bj2Tk6iSQ2 — Awful Announcing (@awfulannouncing) September 23, 2025
"Hey, I respect Philly," Brees said." "I respect Philly. They are winning games. They're finding way to win games. I can't stand to watch that offense. It's the most boring offense."
A boring offense with Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley leading the way? That doesn't seem right.
However, his comment may be due to their famous play, "Tush Push," which has proven to be mostly unstoppable when they execute it. Yet, this has also led to a lot of controversy, with the play almost getting banned before the season began.
However, while he isn't a fan of the offense, he is confident that the team has what it takes to go back-to-back.
"Absolutely," he added. "That's the toughest division in football. Let's see how it plays out."
Eagles Pull Off Thrilling Win Over Rams In Week 3
It seemed like all signs were pointing to the Eagles getting their first loss on Sunday, posting just seven points in the first half, while the Rams put up 19. Then, after a fumble on Philadelphia's first play of the third quarter, Los Angeles capitalized, going up 26-7.
However, the Eagles didn't give up, going on to score 26 unanswered points in the second half, along with a game-winning blocked field goal by defensive tackle Jordan Davis, who returned it for a touchdown.
“The beautiful part about it is we’ve been able to play and win in multiple ways,” Hurts told reporters after the game. “We’ve been able to play defensive games, play well on defense, and protect the ball and win games. We’ve been able to be very efficient and potent and have a lot of fireworks on offense over time and find ways to win games. We’ve been able to come back from very, very ugly situations and it’s a dangerous thing. And [Head] Coach [Nick] Sirianni, he talks about it’s a dangerous thing when the group never gives up, and this group never gave up."
Hurts finished the game, completing 21 of 32 passes for 226 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions.
